Well, the big meeting happened today. The meeting was expected to be contentious and my husband, although he expected to win on most points, thought he would also be leaving the meeting having made one or two new enemies. That didn’t happen.
He took my advice and waited for others to have their say to give the pheromones a chance to disperse wider. That was probably a plus.
When it came time for him to make his points, he won easily and handily on every issue, without resistance, and the enemies he expected to make became allies instead. The meeting ended 3 hours early with everyone on the same page going forward working together. My husband is most likely going to be spearheading the efforts going forward at the head of a small group who will have not only the responsibility to get things done and make the changes necessary, but the power and authority to back it up. He thought he’d have to fight for that, but it was pretty much just gifted to him when he said that is how it had to be.
On the way out of the meeting his boss whispered to him, “Did we just win on every single point?” Unheard of in these meetings. My husband said, “Yes we did,” and the boss just nodded and strutted out the door! LOL
My husband thought the pheromones would help, but even he is pretty surprised by how easily everything just fell into place. I’d call this run a definite success. 
There are a couple of added benefits that came out of this meeting that are definite pluses. My husband is now seen for his tenacity in getting information in a much more positive light. Before it was perceived by some as an intrusion, as stepping on toes, or as exceeding his authority. Now he’s become the person to go to when you need information and as a person who knows how to work together across divides to get at the heart of a problem. In other words, he’s gained value and respect - and this from his former adversaries. So in that regard, going forward from here, this combination could very well help promote his career.
