Hope yāall donāt mind if I bump this thread (itās only been a few months since there were any posts here, anyway).
Tisha, you are a wonderful asset to this community. I was a member here last June, signed up, got the gift certificate (still havenāt used it yet ā it DOESNāT expire, right?!), but this is the first time Iāve been back since June 6, 2011. Wow. Iāve been lurking like crazy ever since, from searches Iāve made on Google and all that jazz, and almost every time, I see a post by Tisha, answering questions and informing people with info and knowledge⦠just wanted to say I appreciate it. All the hard work and everything. Keep doing what you do.
Now, onto the gritty stuff (lol). This topic piques my interest. I donāt know if any of you have heard the term āNo Fapā, but itās pretty popular on a bodybuilding subforum called the āMiscā and other sites⦠basically, itās mostly about guys wanting to stop watching porn and, in the act, they stop masturbating. Porn was never a problem for me. So that wasnāt what intrigued me.
Iāve always felt ātestosterone fueledā (donāt mean to sound like a tool by saying that, if I do). Copious amounts of thick body hair, quick facial hair growth, deep voice, longer ring finger than index, extreme libido, etc. etc. BUT⦠something I always hated⦠(KEEP IN MIND that Iām just 21 years old) was how tired Iād be after masturbation. I got out of a relationship almost 2 years ago, and the tired feeling never bothered me after sex. In fact, albeit Iād feel exhausted, I felt so damn confident and āvirileā. But as for masturbating, I hated how Iād feel afterward. Yeah, Iād feel a few seconds up to 10-15 seconds of elation, but then Iād feel so tired and unmotivated to do anything (but eat and binge on food!) for hours upon hours.
Then I tried No Fap. Went a week in April. Felt incredible. It could have been a placebo, but I 100% believe the effects were palpable and physiological! I felt mental clarity, more focus, stronger, hornier (was already horny enough, but took it to the next level; average looking females began turning me on to no end while being fully clothed LOL!)⦠I just felt like a BETTER person! A well oiled machine, to say the least!
I had never ā at that point ā got my testosterone levels checked, but I wanted to see if I could āraiseā them by not masturbating. However, after April, I fell back into the habit, and again I felt drowsy and unmotivated. All the time.
Then, in June, I was going through a rather stressful time in my life (loss of a family member). This time I was 13 days without masturbating, and again felt strong (physically and mentally), focused, ready to tackle the day off of 4 hours of sleep⦠I felt great.
Long story short, itās been an off and on process since then, and Iāve been reading about it a lot. When Iām about to do something that takes a lot of energy or mental focus, I TRY (keyword being TRY!) to NOT ejaculate whatsoever in the days before.
In late August, I got my T levels checked. Canāt remember the exact number but it was about 450 ng/dl (I believe 250 ng/dl is the normal range?). Well, I found out a few things ā my vitamin D levels were low, and I was deficient in selenium!!
From then on, on a daily basis, Iāve been eating 6 Brazil nuts a day, 20-30 almonds (about an ounce), at least 4 eggs (cholesterol ā testosterone) and supplementing with vitamin D (D3) ā the amount of D Iāve been taking has been 20,000 IU a day. I took it for 4 weeks (the D⦠LOL), took off 2-3 weeks, and continued. Off and on, Iāve also taken Butter OOil/Fermented Cod Liver Oil capsules which features vitamin A (not beta carotene, but the form that directly correlates, along w/ zinc, with testosterone levels!), some D and Vitamin K2! Vitamin K2 is known as The āX-Factorā! It also, APPARENTLY, has some positive testosterone-fueling benefits⦠not to mention itās HUGE in the processing of vitamin D and calcium. Stops the D from over-calcifying your arteries! Itās amazing⦠but itās pricey, so I picked up a bottle of MK7 (the form) Vitamin K2 to supplement with my D3.
Oh, and why the Brazil nuts? Because they have more dietary selenium than any other food out there⦠but I donāt eat many, because one serving is about 750% of oneās daily value of selenium⦠Selenium helps protect the prostate, is a natural antioxidant and āhelps outā the, uh, swimmers in the olā sack. But too much is bad the little swimmers, of course.
Anyway, when I got my testosterone levels checked again, recently, I almost doubled my T levels ā from 450 ng/dl to 820. I also apparently slightly lowered my SHBG (sex hormone binding globulin), which also apparently helped increase my free T⦠how so? How did all this happen? Vitamin E, Iām surmising, from the almonds. Iāve read that vitamin E also stimulates LH (luteinizing hormone), which signals to the hypothalamus in the brain to signal to the pituitary to signal (a lot of signalling!) to the testes to produce testosterone!
This is not a āmiracleā at all. Keep in mind, again, that Iām 21 years old, and at my age, my testosterone levels SHOULD be through the roof! But I did the above, got decent (5-6, sometimes 7, hours) of clear sleep (āclearā sleep is better than a long night of restless sleep) and Iāve had a rather positive attitude through at all, competing in various facets of life in different competitions, maintaining calmness through high stress situations, etc.
Iām extremely horny all the time and my libido is ridiculous, even more than before. Regardless, I do the whole āNo Fapā shindig for a couple of weeks. And if I donāt get into any kind of relationships with interested girlfriends are involved (i.e no sex), I just masturbate before bed (after 10-14 days or so), and then start the cycle all over again. I love the energy from not masturbating. Say itās a placebo, but hey, itās one hell of a placebo! The one thing I can hardly stand is the random āwoodiesā (trying to tiptoe around my wording). I could see an extremely average looking girl, and I can be attracted to her, and get physically turned on. Itās insane. To add one quick thing: yes, I do edge a bit, but unlike many, I think āedgingā is healthy in the way bloodflow is increased, and well, just putting it out there, I think having a boner is healthy in general!
Iāve noticed a lot more looks from girls and even some older women, too, which is a plus. I have to say that I feel ALMOST more confident than ever, which is saying something, because I was down in the dumps back in 2011 after the break-up with my ex from then. She cheated on me in 2010, and for the LONGEST time, my confidence levels were at an all-time low and I lacked self-esteem and felt insecure every second of the day. Now? The complete opposite.
If girls get more attractive both physically and hormone wise when they are fertile, it makes sense for men to be the same.
Wanted to draw attention to the above, in case anybody that replies want to address it or negate it! I love to learn!
Iāve read that girls are known to sync their monthly cycles with their friends who they spend a lot of time with. Currently, it is unclear exactly how this happens, but scientists speculate that it has something to do with pheromones released by them. (Please address this and correct me if Iām wrong!)
If the human body is capable of releasing hormones to communicate with those around us, and they can interpret those messages and react to them with a physical change, then it is pretty much a dead certainty (?) that not masturbating could produce a chemical that everyone around you subconsciously picks up from you to let them know that you are in āgod-modeā and fertile with a āfull bag of seedsā. On a completely one-lane road of a level, would a horny female typically be more attracted to a guy with a full sack or a guy thatās weak, completely drained and āfruitlessā? (I know, there WAY MORE factors at hand here, but I just wanted to be a little, um, canāt think of the word⦠I dunno⦠basic? I guess?)
Iāve gained an interest in biology recently (Iām passionate about nutritional science more than anything, however) and from various examples of human behavior and adaptations I have already been taught, it would not surprise me in the slightest if we (as in us guys) had an evolutionary adaptation that limits our ability to attract girls for sex when we have a low sperm count and makes it easier to attract them when we have a high sperm count. We already know that a womanās appearance improves when she is at her most fertile point in her cycle, the same is very possible for men.
