Don't rub your application points

When you apply cologne its suggested to NOT rub your application points (as in, if you spray on one wrist then don’t rub both your wrists together). It changes the character of the scent somehow by affecting the scent itself and/or possibly diffusion.
Do you think it might apply to pheromones as well?
I am thinking rubbing appication points for oil-based products is ok, but not for spray-based products.
Anyone noticed any differences either way?

For alcohol-based products, for myself, yes it makes a difference.

1 spray close to each wrist to emulate (drops), no rubbing together, lasts longer and diffuses slower.

If I rub wrists together, I get more diffusion, sillage, and shorter effective time.

I never had a problem rubbing the oil based A314 or LAM products, but then I don’t know really how you’d apply them otherwise.

Perfumers say that rubbing application points together “bruises the fragrence”. I’m not sure what that means, but since I heard that I don’t rub any more, Cologne or pheros.

Cause oil provides a sort of a lubricated ‘cushion’ whereas alcohol does not?

I suppose that’s one possibility. I dunno. I do know I never rub cologne, but oil based stuff seems fine.

What does M. Harris think about this?
