England has a new president

Is everybody missing the point we should just blame this on Kirk and those whales. If we did that we could just move on and be happy in our blind stupidity.

Politicians lie, Republicans and Democrats. I consider myself conservative Republican, because it keeps my ultra liberal ideals in check. If I was running the nation, and this maybe a fact finding mission for 2012, there would be real change. Not bull-shit change in commercials to get me elected but change that says Steve is here to make the world a better place. First thing I’d do is drop the PheroBomb on Congress and hire me every sexy Co-Ed intern I could find. Publicize my freakiness, and let the world know that you cant F*** with America cause Steve is already F***ing America. Well at least all my sexy Co-Ed Interns

Even if Obama doesn’t create “real change” he gives people some real hope, well except for some radical right wing arch conservatives that is. This is what Kennedy and Reagan did, and it helped the nation then, and we need it now.

I’m not. Captain Kirk just doesn’t deserve all the blame.. :stuck_out_tongue:

In all seriousness though, blind stupidity is exactly what’s wrong with America.

Hope? Oh yea, that’s what I’ve been looking for…now where the hell did I put it? ..it’s always in the last damn place I look…

So true. I learned from Civilizations II always send enough troops to get the job done or the enemy will regroup and be twice as hard to beat.

PMSL
Please, please stand for Congress and send me a pherobomb for parliament, that way we will be able to keep the US/UK ‘special relationship’ on track.

BTW, it wasn’t Kirk’s fault, that dastardly tree hugging Vulcan made him do it!

Yup, finally someone gets my point

That’s such a “duh” it can be un-commented on.

finally a democrat in the white house

i hope obama can fix health care, i still cant understand hows its possible that health care isnt availible to everyone, america seems real behind on that one…

Well let’s just hope its not Socialized Health Care. IMHO, I believe any social welfare is oppressive. If it worked so well, than there would be no ghettos, but where there is welfare there is little to no hope. People need hope and God willing Obama might be that President that gives hope.

I have seen true socialized medicine up close. Everyone gets treated … sorta … and there are some top notch doctors and hospitals … but overall … it is really kinda scary. The average hospital reminded me more of an under-staffed, over-filled M.A.S.H. unit with equipment that was at least a couple generations old …

Well, I will never say that everyone can get all the healthcare they need when they want it. But at the same time, as Hazard pointed out there are a lot of options here in the US for healthcare if you cannot afford it. Even “For Profit” hospitals write off a lot of bills because people cannot afford to pay them. That is also one of the reasons hospital bills can be so high for paying customers - the hospitals have to include the cost of their “write offs” in those bills just like stores have to include the cost of “pilferage” in the cost of the goods they sell.

i see this thread is still going…this is why i don’t vote…doesn’t matter who wins, all politicians are the same in the end

find me an honest politician who did not have an affair or cut some deal to make money for their own pockets and I will sell you a bridge in brooklyn

i realized a long time ago none of us can make a difference it just useless, it really is, so I just go on enjoying life and trying to get laid as much as I can, drink, party, work, and hope I am alive to wake up tomorrow, so i could do it all over again…LOL

Do you have anything with bricks, preferably made in the late 1800’s and over the EAST River. Oh yeah, maybe suspension bridge if possible.

Yes We Do, and if you want us to sell you said bridge, Yes We Can! :open_mouth: We will be happy to do so … lol. :stuck_out_tongue:

I remember hearing a saying once “If voting could change anything it would be illegal”

I do have a 4 lane bridge that runs between MIami and Cuba that I’m looking to sell cheap. The south bound lanes are like new, but the north bound ones are starting to show some wear.

I hope i didn’t offend anyone regarding my healthcare views… my mother-in-law is in a bad situation regarding her healthcare so i understand just as much as the next guy why “universal healthcare” would appeal to people… it’s just… overall it’s not a good thing. America has lots of options and I think we should be doing a little more advertising of what to do if you don’t have healthcare before we even begin to consider a universal healthcare program

it doenst matter if you could afford health care or not, it should be free

in europe its free for such a long time, and i dont see any problems with that

Ha, look at social care in the UK, 14 year old girls get themselves pregnant so that they can get a house paid for by the state. Hospitals are getting better as long as you are prepared to run the risk of contracting MRSA. If you dare to get old and incapable of supporting yourself, you will be placed in what is virtually a prison and systematically abused until you give up and die.

I’m not saying that our situation is any worse or any better than anyone else’ it’s just that each system has it’s own problems.

Hell, if I knew the answers I would take over the world and everyone would love me

It’s not THAT, that anyone disputes… If we could get the same healthcare and didn’t have to pay for it… that would be fantastic. Unfortunately SOMETHING suffers… Taxes go up insanely high… quality of healthcare can diminish… there have been a bunch of reasons listed throughout the thread… read on some of the problems in russia…

Like i said… i don’t think anyone disagrees that free healthcare would be nice… but in the end… it ISN’T free.

Cash, credit or taxes, nobody gets well for free! :stuck_out_tongue:
