I used to post here quite a lot but, in all honesty, I just kind of stopped using my pheros and forgot all about the forum and got on with life.
But something happened that I had to share…
My son and I go the same hairdresser. He is 5. We usually get our hair done at the same time but I booked too late and he had his done on Friday. I booked mine for 11am Saturday.
During my son’s haircut the three staff and other women there entered into a nougat / nougar discussion that I initiated. I was basically arguing that soft nougat in a Mars bar is different to the harder nougat that you get in peanutty nougat. Okay, dumb subject but thats what we were all tlaking about. I said that when I came in next day I would bring proof of the nougat / nougar difference.
As it turned out, I could not find out the truth so I resolved to admit defeat. For some reason, I sprayed three bursts of Ammunition (which I have not used for literally months) on the left, right and centre of my chest. Then I went for my haircut.
Okay, I was a bit nervous about going because I was thinking about the whole discussion and thinking that I’d geeked out a bit by going on and on about such a boring subject. BUT! But when I went for my haircut it was actually really amazing the way the experience went. My hairdresser is always very nice and chatty and sweet, but that day she was even more so. But the real difference was the other girls (including customers) who were acting really weird. They were “loving me up” and saying my name over and over. But they were also saying things like: “I thought that nougat and nougar were the same thing, but if R says they aren’t then I believe him. After all, its R!”
Its hard to describe, just that the reaction to my presense was not what I’d expected. I thought I’d be the geek they were having a giggle at but instead it was like I was some sort of investigative authority. And there was loaaads of eye contact with my and the other hairdresser.
So I had to share.
And my haircut? Christ, its the best its been in years!

Edit: I must edit and add that since (estimated) age 24 I have been able to tell the difference between sarcastic and real compiments.
