I am a guy, age 19. I joined at a friend’s recommendation in order to learn about pheromones. I don’t really know anything about them, so I guess I will have to ask, what are the basics that I should know? Any information would be helpful, as my friend did not really explain what exactly I am supposed to do.

There’s a great deal of knowledge gathered there in concise form. You’ll learn how it works, what results to expect, how to recognize them, what dosages to use (using too much is no good with this stuff), how and where to apply etc. For the first few months I wasn’t getting much results, and only weird and unpredictable at best, because I just bought some bottles and didn’t care to find out what to do with them. This forum is the best place to avoid such silly mistakes.
You will also find some product descriptions and I’m sure you’ll have some favourites that you will want to try. Ask around and we’ll be happy to advise, as not every product is well suited for everyone; some work best with certain age groups, relationship situations etc.
In short, pheromones are a means of conveing a non-verbal message about the person wearing them. Just like clothes you wear and/or your body language. They can be even more powerful because it’s not something visible, so works subconsciously.
