Hey everyone,
I’m a relative newbie to both the forum and pheromone products in general. Heres my story: (Cue Morgan Freeman style voice-over)
I discovered Pherotalk and the concept of pheromone products about a year ago, I think after watching Oceans 13! (anyone remember that bit with Matt Damon?). Who wouldn’t want such a power at their fingertips!?
I read into it very thoroughly, mostly through this site, and was somewhat hesitant, but decided to first try a commercial cologne-mix-type product. I think it was ‘Lure For Him’. I was only really interested in using products to improve my effect on women as I was recently out of a long-term relationship and a little shy/nervous with those I didn’t know. At first it was hard to tell whether it really worked or if it merely gave me placebo-confidence. I have since concluded that it is at least a little effective.
Since then I have found myself in another happy, long-term (or at least getting on that way) relationship. Whether the product helped in the initial stage of our relationship is hard to tell, either way, we’re very happy together now. I continued to occasionally use the ‘Lure’ for her purposes specifically; if I particularly wanted her attention or to emphasise an occasion (if I hadn’t seen her in a while or going out for a date, for example), but mostly not on her. Instead I’d use it if I particularly wanted to make an impression on her girly friends/family, or if I just wanted to have a slight edge for breaking the ice at parties or in bars etc. in general, not just with women.
I never bought any products, as I had only ever really considered using pheromone products as a sexual attractant for first-time encounters and, finding myself in a happy relationship, never felt the need for them. I was also partly put off by the moral implications, and didn’t want to ever feel I was tricking her into liking/wanting me, if that makes sense.
Anyway I decided to come back here again because I am off to university in a few weeks! At times I am a little shy with people I dont know, particularly large groups; its nothing crippling and is dependant largely on my mood. Sometimes I’ll be in a cheery mood and be really quite extroverted and buoyant, which rubs off on other people (think ‘Instant Shine’ all by myself!) and other times I’m less energetic and either can’t be bothered trying to initiate conversation (I think I come across as ‘not very approachable’ at these time), but happily dive into conversation if initiated. And then there are times when i’m feeling a little nervous and shy and, as a result, can’t bring myself to initiate conversations.
So I’ve come here hoping to find something to make myself generally more approachable and easier to engage in the first weeks at uni, meeting new people and partying with them and sparking up relationships.
I’ve spent many hours lurking as a guest, reading and referencing through every product and what people have to say about them, and I have come up with a shopping basket!
Instant shine (I particularly like the sound of this one as I love it when I am in that kind of mood I described earlier! Some of that in a bottle? Yes please!)
Instant Gentleman This one for the confidence boosting on myself, and the cool-factor, and also a slight edge of importance/wisdom/authority etc, but not as far as A314, (which might reduce approachability). I also sometimes have a tendency to place myself below those around me, especially with people older than myself or even sometimes in the same age-group, so this would help for that. Not necessarily a problem anyway as I’ll be 2-3 years older than most people also starting uni, but it goes in the basket even for those other reasons alone. Sounds good!
Instant openness This one is fairly self explanatory. approachability & conversation.
Instant Honesty Open conversation is great and all, but I don’t want people mindlessly babbling at me all night long. Perhaps a little depth and intimacy would be nice, but not to reduce approachability and conversation initiation, which is important.
I’m considering getting Come Talk To Me Mix 2 in place of Instant openness and Instant Honesty. Primarily because of the extra cost of getting 2 bottles when one might do. I would appreciate any comments on this, as I’m not sure whether it quite compares. Also it sounds as though it can have negative effects on the wearer…
Obviously I will have a little play before dousing myself in this coctail, even if it is a comparatively mild one: no -none (I’m not aiming for sexual-attraction here; as I said I have a girlfriend)
Okay I realise I’ve rambled on a little, and it occurs now tha perhaps my shopping list/request for comments could have gone in Men’s Advice, but hope its all cool.
This seems like a really rich and welcoming community, and I appreciate all the advice out there!
Thank you
