Thats definitely good that your curious about pheremones.They are fun things to play with.They work really well though they are best paired with good social skills since they are more for setting the mood.They help a lot though particularly if your shy or want a confidence boost.This link is pretty good for explaining what they can do.A lot of the effects can be pretty subtle though and you will have to keep an eye out to notice hits.
