What works best depends on what are your goals.
You don’t need to spray colognes on top if you don’t want to.
I suspect a few of the big brand names contain some pheros.
What are your purposes for using pheromones? Is it for work, for dating, for socials?

As ray said, what works best depends on what your goals are. Try Ammo cologne if youre totally new because its pretty easy to use and it gets good results.
You dont have to mix these with regular colognes since most of the products can be used by itself but you could if you want

Welcome here. Yeah products like ammo have some fragrance mixed into them. Smells like Hugo Boss btw. 
I use my A314 with my Brut. So it really depends what products you have in mind.

You dont mix the products here at smartmones. They are all stand alone proeucts. You can layer them for different effects. You can cover with cologne if you want to but you dont have to.
AMMo is a good place to start, This comes in its own yummy cologne and will increae attraction and interest. It can be mildly arousing as well.
I also suggest IO and Ishine.
They have to go bottles so you can try things out at a low cost.
