I’ve been reading this forum for almost a month now, and I think I have a good feeling about what the main consumer products do.
My current situation is one of those ‘trying to rebuild my social life and not become a workaholic’ times. If you look at my journal (link in sig), you can find a lot of not terribly exciting work-related sub-hits
. The relative dullness is for 3 reasons
- I’m sticking to methodically trying each product on its own, before mixing (I’m not just being anal; I really want to get a feel for each of them)
- I strongly tend towards introversion, and I don’t always read other people’s reactions well. Hence I’m always talking about self-effects

- My main interaction with people these days is in work situations
The third point is important. I have a good social life at home (in Ireland), but I’m living and working in Eastern Europe (ok, the locals would kill me for that, it’s ‘Central Europe’…) at the moment, and I’m not fluent in the language yet, so that’s a hurdle (though not a barrier: I can deal fine with daily stuff, at least), and I’ve recently broken up with my girlfriend, thus losing a lot of acquaintances and near-friends (without the intermediating girlfriend, it’s just linguistically too hard for both sides - none of them were really friends, anyway, just ‘the crowd’).
OK, so now I’m trying to get in contact with all the people I personally have a friendly connection with (including the ex-gf). I expect to have a few drinks with each of these people (boys and girls) over the next few weeks. While the immediate aim is to keep in touch with these people, I’d like if I got to know other people through them too.
That’s the first situation (or set of situations) I’m thinking about. I’d be meeting a guy or girl (just me and him/her) in a pub or something and chatting. I already get on great with these people, but I’d like to create a sense that it would be worth getting me involved in their larger circle of friends. Normally I interest people and get into cool involved conversations with them, which I love, but that’s quite a different kind of attractiveness - not the kind that gets you invited to parties
,
So, what could I wear? OK, I’ll decide on clothes myself… but what about pheromones
? The final part of the puzzle is this: no mixes, please. See, these meetings will be the first places that I get to really fully socially interact with people, not just interact as a teacher or consultant. So they’re the perfect place for me to get to know some pheromones in more detail. My inventory is listed in my sig.
Second situation is quite similar, but the friend is not really a friend yet. She’s a client with whom I got on very well, and she went to Ireland for a few months, loved it, and when she got back was IMing me about how great a time she had (in my home town), etc. We were going to meet up, but never got around it - I hope we’ll manage to arrange something soon. She won’t be a client again in future (no need), and she’s married, so no overt sexual choices (ok if it’s mild, to increase interest in socialising). I think we’ll meet, but I’d like to make sure that the meetings keep happening.. same aim as with the other friends, basically - I ask separately, because it’s transitioning from a client to an acquaintance to a friend. There’s a risk we mightn’t be so interesting to each other (if pheros can save it, cool, if not - no loss).
I haven’t provided any suggestions myself - I have a clue, but I want to confirm my ideas, or challenge them. Ask if I’ve missed out on anything significant…
Thanks!!
