Wow, some great insight here, guys! Thank you all.
Accuracy has always been a big deal with us, since so many pheromone names weren’t accurate. Companies traditionally wrote their marketing first, and worked on their product as an afterthought. It was maybe #31 on the list of priortities, if that.
We felt this really impeded any sort of forward momentum. Of course, it did. We’ve gotten very far in terms of new tech with accurate naming.
The only time we really want to take liberties with names are for mass market designed products, like Ammo. There, we’ll focus more on story (a funny story about cupid upgrading his arsenal w/machine guns and stuff), and then provide a formula that’s a little world friendly (lots of social mones, so we don’t pollute hoot hoot).
That’s all a bit of a mismatch, maybe, but a good match for the mass markets and for the mental health and wellbeing of the world in general. A 20mcg per spray -none product would be the ideal version of Ammo, perhaps, but if we sold a few hundred thousand or a million bottles of those… well… rolls eyes
Everyone would have the attitude of a spoiled Qatarian, and that’s not the world we want to live in. Read about Qatar sometime, maybe in the Geography of Bliss Geography of Bliss.
We want less loneliness and social stigma. We want to help people connect. We more love and warmth, fun and joy on earth. We want more party and less pity. To us, the Qatarian way of life… with it’s extreme aggressiveness towards people and lack of concern for others is something sort of like hell on earth. Pretty much the exact opposite of what we’re working for.
Now for our core project here, on the other hand, we really want the highest accuracy we can. Most people on websites like this are wicked smart, and not really part of the mass market. Not much, anyway.
So yes, Gentleman is accurate for the presence this product provides, but I didn’t much consider the stigma of this name. I LIKE GENTLEMAN!
Except during a brief wreckless stint as a confused teen, I’d always go for the Gentleman over the Jerk. (but I’d style want him to have style!) And Michael was too classy to ever think that anybody would ever want to be a less than “Perfect Gentleman”. His ideas have always been very fork and knife, very classical. I guess you could call them a little “old fashioned”.
Style, though, I like that. Style. Class. These are good words that are still more or less accurate, but more inviting.
That might be better if we offer something like this as a back-end product for Ammo, too.
