It means you are looking at scam sites that sell on “thrill” rather than fact.
This is a favourite claim of the scammers/ignorant with next to no basis in fact.
One or two very specific pheros are illegal in a non-phero context in a very few countries, usually falling under the steriod laws - eg Androsterone in Australia and DHEA/S in the UK IIRC but the vast majority of countries have no restrictions whatsoever on phero import or use.
Some other countries also have varying restrictions on the import of cosmetic products/preps - Mexico, certain Pacific Nations and some of the Gulf States come to mind - Again, pheros can get seized but its nothing to do with the pheros themselves.
There are no illegal pheromones I know of. The pheromones science is too new and underdeveloped for the Feds to become interested in limiting their use among the general public. For now, as far as the Feds are concerned, the Androtics products are just glorified perfumes. So in their eyes, “if big businesses want to sell glorified perfumes, let them; it’ll only increase the tax revenue from the sales”. However, because pheromones are naturally occurring in the human body, it’s only a matter of time until the FDA or the USDA start wanting to get their hands on the pheromone trade. Then we’d have to buy pig pheromones from farmers, or something. Our only hope is for Androtics to grow big enough to have leverage (read: lobbying) in the Congress. In the meantime, let’s continue buying the good stuff the proper way, and enjoy their benefits.
Unfortunately, seeing as I live in Australia it’s very difficult to get this stuff past customs if the ingredients are listed. I’ve had packages confiscated on certain products because they’ve got androsterone or DHEA on the label (which is utterly ridiculous).
Of course there are illegal “pheromones” – they would be substances that are viable as a pheromone but not available. I believe pure testosterone is one, but I’m not sure. There are probably loads of hidden pheromones under the androst-tree.
Well, I know that. I was being facetious with the pig farmers comment. I meant to point out how people will try to get around the ban if pheromones were made illegal. For example, raw milk is mostly illegal in the US, but can be bought for use as farm animal food. So people who are desperate for raw milk for whatever reason, will simply buy it from an animal food supplier and drink it themselves. Who’s to say people won’t try the same thing if pheromones were illegal.
My personal opinion is it may have less to do with legal and illegal and more to do with regulated/controlled and un. Also it feels like that may be more in regards to steroid use than pheromone use. Just my 2cents
