lotion to extend mones

i read but do not fully understand using lotion over ur application mone points…do u put lotion say on neck and wrist before u spray mones? also wat kind of lotion is best? or are there any other tricks. thx. farely new to this..

You put lotion under mones! It will very effectively seal them-in otherwise.

Its moisturiser that you apply over mones, or mix them into prior to application. There is no lanolin or similar in moisturiser, so it forms a more permeable barrier on the skin. This is a tactic for very hot or hot/humid environments though - where mones diffuse away really fast. In more temperate or indoor/aircon conditions, it will slow the diffusion very significantly, probably to where they are barely effective. Applying over lotion is usable in cooler conditions, although the penalty is a negligible reduction in diffusion.

So specific brand of lotion or moisturiser - any basic good quality brand will do well.

Also, when applying any lotion, use as little as you can to cover your app point and give it a couple of minutes to settle into your skin. You don’t want to be applying over sticky lotion.

I find I can cover four major app points with a blob of lotion about the size of an average pea and that sinks-in fast enough that by the time I’ve put my shirt on and tied my tie (on work days), its time to apply the mones. i then get a 10-12hr life out of A314 and other oils oil and add 1-2 hours extra depending on conditions for spray mones.

Also, I’m prone to getting mild skin irritation from certain scent components and lotion can effectively barrier them on my skin for a good while. It will not stop a more serious irritation/allergic reaction though.

Moisturiser over mones isn’t something applicable to my part of the world but I understand that needs a bit more work to determine the right amount - spray the mones, let the solvent evaporate and then apply the moisturiser - start with a thin layer and work-up till you find the best amount for your climate. There are some good threads from folk in hot places that will give more info if you try a search.

wow thx for all great info. thinking about jergens under mones and oil of olay moisturizer over. sounds ok? and nonscented lotion and moisturizer?

Olay moisturiser contains Triclosan, which is something you want to avoid like the plague as it breaks down mones very effectively - its also very common in sanitiser gels, liquid soaps and aerosol deodorants

I don’t know Jergens but a quick google suggests that their lotion is Triclosan free but some other products in their range do have it.

Triclosan is also described on ingredient lists as - 5-chloro-2-(2,4-dichlorophenoxy)phenol, more or less anything with “antibacterial” properties will have it.

This is why I tend to go for the basic products from a quality brand - They tend to have the minimum of additional ingredients that might hamper you. In the UK, I use Boots basic brand or Simple for moisturiser and Molton Brown Thai Vert hand lotion - All basic but quality brands that are free of phero-damaging ingredients.

wow googled triclosan! its the devil! but still very hard to find triclosan free lotion in ca. but whole foods like traders joes will surely hv it. thx for the enlightenment!
