Well, since I’m getting Ammo and researched a few days about pheormones, I have to tell, one thing interests me.
I read some wikipedia articles about Androstadienone (the sexual hormone) and the Androstenone (the alpha-like, which could also could be considered a sexual harmone due to females being attracted to alpha males).
Both of these things come from male sweat; thus, I am a male and had made a theory. What if I harnessed my own sweat and put it in a cologne? I wanna to test it out along with ammo I will get.
Since I’m a teenager, I should have a higher concentration of the pheormones than a 30 year old right? So if I harnessed my own sweat and put it in a cologne, wouldn’t that be the same as a pheormone cologne? I’m really anxious to test this out, any thoughts?
(I’m not putting down and trying to keep anybody from purchasing smartmones goods, I just wanted to see if this could actually work)
It is a little more complex than just collecting sweat.
Certain bacterial (corynebacteria) processes are involved as well. And if you let your sweat sit around in a bottle with all the different bacteria you will be scraping off into it, you don’t know exactly what you will end up with. And it is unsanitary. Think about how much you stink if you don’t shower for a week. That’s going to happen in your bottle of sweat. You could call your product Instant Stench, because that is about what it will be.
And if you filter out the bacteria in your sweat right after collection and decant what is left into another bottle, you are still going to have mostly salt water with a little pheromone, not enough to influence anyone. It would be about as pointless as taking one spray of TUTH and diluting it in about 1000 parts of salt water… It is just silly.
Hmm, you make an interesting point there. I guess that pretty much kills my own theory, but what I don’t get is how individuals manage to collect it and use them in university studies and experiments.
I think LTDshred probably thought they had a lot of guys running on treadmills trying to sweat up a storm while scientists collect their sweat into little beakers?
Chemistry is wonderful in that you can isolate and extract molecules for measuring and characterizing based on their chemical properties. These procedures often use some very toxic or caustic chemicals though, and really shouldn’t be attempted outside the lab. Some of the reagents the researchers use are illegal to have without proper permits.
Actually, people have reported some success with this idea. Women have been using their own secretions for perfume for a long time. Men have reported various degrees of success with this approach too.
One thing is not to wash with soap. Then sweat from the genital area or armpits can be applied to the neck or wrist. Some people have tried going without bathing for periods of time in conjunction with these strategies. This will certainly give a more “natural” smell similar to what we evolved with. However, it may violate certain social conventions. Depending on your physiology it may be more or less offensive. Or you may be in the situation where some people react positively while others react negatively.
There are indeed some studies where they collect the sweat from the armpits with pads, for example there is a study where people are exposed to fearful situations and they had proof that others exposed to this fear-sweat react to it, or a study where women identified their boyfriends through their armpit sweat.
But i think in these cases they use the pads after a short period of time - and the test subjects sniff the pads directly, it would have no effect from a distance…
Although if ask me the process sounds absolutely revolting and there’s not enough money in the world for me to want to try it… but best of luck if you decide to give it a shot.
