I cant even get away with red lip stick. I look 10 years older with it on. Its not that I dont like red I just look so shitty in it. (snort)
I can get away with pinks and mauves though. Yellows, greens. black and shades of brown are what compliments me with clothes.
Red does draw attention but if it doesnt compliment you it will be more negative attention.
Color does work to evoke thought and emotion and just like anything else it can be negative or positive. Wear what compliments you and that will always draw positive attention whether that is red or yellow.
Color gives a quick first impression but its what your personality brings to that color that causes attraction.
