Mones Attracted BEES!

Not sure what the deal was with this but after spraying some ammo and IS on myself this afternoon, no less than 3 yellow jackets flew right up on my chest and just planted themselves there! I waved my arms but they just kept comin’ back for more. No stings, thankfully, but they were absolutely swarming.

Are they attracted to mones? Cologne in general?

Not sure what caused it, but you’re lucky to not have gotten stung. I really do wonder if it was the mones, seems plausible?

If you have sweet smelling colognes. It typically happens. Same if you have scented body products that you use. I don’t think it’s the pheromone but more of the scent that AMMO has and Neroli. Either one could have done it but it also could have been the FF22 scent (more floral), if you have FF21 then it’s more of a detergent like smell which could also be a factor. Neroli is citrus so I could understand why they were attracted to that scent. There have been several studies that scents can sometimes attract bees.

Pheros definitely affect animals (this one cat I know goes NUTS for me when I wear them) so I can see them affecting insects as well.
That sucks though. :frowning: Good thing you got away sting-free!

I’ve gotten stunk twice by yellow jackets! Both times I was wearing NPA, so yes, I find this to be correct!!

I had to walk away from a yellow jacket several days ago that appear to pick up the scent. I was wearing -mones.

Yup, bees emit specific pheros for certain purposes. OTOH, to bring other bees on to food, to cause swarming - commercial phero products are sold to spray on hives in order to get them to swarm into them. And of course for sexual purposes
