MX399 Testing: Brought To You By Vespero

I’ve been testing MX399 for a few days now and haven’t been on the forum so I might avoid reading other people’s tests. More recently, I have glanced at a few reports, but not long enough to pick up any information to really have any idea what to expect from the mix.

A Little Bit of Instant Shine To Start the Day Off Right:

My first day of testing was June 24th. Humidity was probably around 85% or higher and the temperature was in the mid 90s. I was planning on talking to my teacher about my grade for the class I have been taking, so I decided not to try something new when I plan to do something important. Thus, I applied 2 sprays of Instant Shine (2x Strength) to my wrists and neck at approximately 10:15AM, before my class. I noticed an immediate pickup and a desire to get through my last day of class. For the past few class periods, I had been trudging along and feeling ready to just be done with the whole thing, in part because the teacher’s projected final grade for me was slightly lower than I had hoped, and I felt I deserved a higher grade. However, suddenly I didn’t give a damn. I was ready to learn everything I possibly could on this last day of class and give my final presentation my all, grades be damned.

I powered through my work and finished up in time to present my specimen to the class on time. After most of the other students left, I helped my teacher clean everything up, which included some lifting and getting my hands pretty dirty with fluids from the specimens. During the class, I noticed that one of the girls who is normally fairly friendly with me didn’t seem to want to talk to me at all. She hardly acknowledged my presence. By the end of the class, she had warmed up again though.

Once we finished bagging specimens, the girl left to change out of her scrubs, leaving me alone with my teacher. I was helping him wash our instruments and chatted a bit about the class and how much I enjoyed it. I casually asked him what I could have done better and politely listened to him explain the few weak points I had in the class. I also volunteered completely in earnest to possibly be a TA for the same class next summer. He told me he would be glad to have me and I could even take the class again for credits that would indicate that I had acted as a teaching assistant. I think this and all my hard work in the class really sealed the deal, as when my grade finally posted today, I had an A. I wonder if the Instant Shine helped to communicate that I was being serious and not just trying to suck up to him for a better grade.

Enter MX399:

The teacher, the girl, and I decided to go catch lunch together at the food court on campus. I ducked into the bathroom to change out of my scrubs and also applied 1 spray MX399 at 2:00PM to my wrists and spread it around my neck. We headed out. As we walked, I noticed that the teacher and girl had moved closer together and were walking quickly, essentially excluding me. They didn’t seem to pay as much attention to me as before, engrossed in their own conversation. I tried several times to enter the dialogue but kept finding myself back outside. It wasn’t until we arrived at the food court and sat down that I was able to get back into the conversation, and then I was very much in it, as both of them paid close attention to what I said. After we finished up, I walked toward the parking garage with the girl. She seemed much more relaxed than she had earlier. I noticed that she kept walking very close to and slightly behind me. I actually thought she was trying to pass around behind me or was trying to steer me to go right (she was on my left). I even asked if she needed to go right and she said that she was just heading to the parking garage. She seemed entirely unaware that she was completely invading my personal space and practically forcing me off the sidewalk. She seemed very happy and comfortable and our conversation was interesting and very friendly but not flirty at all.

I noticed no self-effects that I could trace back to MX399 during the entire day, though I was surprised by my reaction to Instant Shine earlier.

Ramping It Up:

My second day of testing was June 25th. The weather was essentially the same as the day before, with 87% humidity and temperatures in the 90s. I applied 2 sprays of MX399 to my wrists and neck at around 7:00PM. I paid close attention to my behavior but didn’t notice any self-effects. I went to get coffee and then headed over to my female friend Kat’s house to visit. She was in a bad mood but she cheered up considerably after a while. However, I was actively trying to cheer her up, which is usually fairly effective, so I don’t know how much can be attributed to the pheromones.

We headed to a nearby bar where one of our friends had brought a few six-packs of cheap bottled beer. One of my other friends, who can be pretty crazy and sometimes obnoxious, especially after a few drinks, showed up. He had had a few drinks. However, though he gave my other friend a bit of his very special form of shit, he didn’t bother me at all. In fact, he just said I should come hang out and play Go with him at his house and asked what I had been up to. This was unusual, as he’s usually a bit out of control, even when sober. One of the other guys there, who only recently has begun to warm up to me (he used to really dislike me) was also respectful and made conversation and joked with me.

Later, we headed to a grocery store to pick up some alcohol for a small party at Kat’s house. Once again, he teased Kat at about the normal level but didn’t bother me at all. When I bought him a pack of cigarettes (I owed him a little), he picked on me for asking for them from the grocery cashier instead of at the little counter that sells cigarettes and more expensive liquors, but I got back at him when he asked me if I got CashBack when I paid with a card and they handed me a $20 bill with the cigarettes by sarcastically telling him that yeah, I was just so cool they gave me money for coming to that store. After that, he was back to not bothering me at all.

I didn’t notice much from anyone else, and didn’t notice any real hits from females, but I definitely felt a respect vibe from the guys around me. I am liking this MX so far as a social tool with guys, but am wondering what potential it has with the ladies, if any.

A Hop and a Skip Beyond Two Sprays (Mo’ Respect, Mo’ Banter):

My next test was on June 26th. Weather was close to that of the day before, though we had a bit of rain, so the humidity may have been a bit closer to 80% with temperatures in the low 90s. I applied 3.5 sprays of MX399 with 2 sprays to my wrists and 1.5 to my neck, then spread everything around. This happened at around 3:00PM. I was supposed to go a local coffee shop with one of my friends to play Go (this is not the guy who wanted to play Go from the last report). I don’t know this guy that well, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I went and knocked on his door and when he opened it, he introduced me to his roommate, who had just moved in. I felt more sociable than normal and the introduction went very smoothly. Normally, I have a tendency to draw introductions out until no one is sure what to say and there are awkward silences. This was not the case. The conversation was friendly but to the point, the perfect length, and my friend and I headed out after only a few minutes.

My friend had never been to this coffee shop, and may have been a bit unnerved, as it is very unlike the typical Starbucks experience. In place of the clean, professional, nearly clinical austerity of Starbucks, there were couches, hardwood floors, and oddly clothed mannequins populating every space, which seemed to have been constructed from three separate buildings connected by turning walls into doors. The barista was wearing a plaid miniskirt with lace leggings, leather boots, and a vest, and had a number piercings. I walked right up to the counter and started bantering about how I just couldn’t decide whether I wanted something cold and non-caffeinated or hot and caffeinated, and that there were too many damn good choices at this coffee shop. I felt pretty confident, and was surprised that I didn’t say a single awkward thing during this, as I usually end up saying something that halts the flow of conversation and kills the banter. I must say, I felt rather like a badass, detached but in the game. We actually went back and forth for a little while and my friend probably felt a little left out, so I finally ordered and we headed to a back room to start playing.

I hadn’t played the game in over a year, so I made a few stupid but important mistakes and ended up losing the game. Still, when we finished, my friend actually started asking me for advice about what to do in certain situations in the game and what my strategies were. I consider this once again an indicator of respect. Even though I lost, he felt there were a lot of things he could learn from me. This could be a very useful mix, not merely socially but in more professional settings, and with women as well (if you can learn to carry it properly.)

Let’s Get Professional:

I wanted to test out my theory that MX399 could be useful in a more professional setting, so I decided to wear it when I volunteered to work in the lab on campus. My test was on June 27th. The humidity was probably around 70%. It had just rained and so the temperature was probably in the mid to upper 80s. I applied 3 sprays of MX399 at around 1:00PM (2 to wrists, 1 to neck) and headed to the lab. Everyone was at lunch, so I went into one of the rooms and started reading a book on the history of neuroscience. After about 10 minutes, one of the grad students showed up. She is a fairly dark African-American woman probably in her mid-20s. The past few times I have encountered her, she has seemed rather cold and acted as if she didn’t want to be bothered with me shadowing her or asking questions, but is too polite to tell me to go away. Today, she seemed significantly open. She initially acted the same as before, but after a few minutes of tinkering with the instrument sitting next to where I had decided to read, I asked her a couple questions and she started talking about what she was working on and we chatted about my class and her current work. She said she would let me shadow her, but she wasn’t really doing anything except calibrating her protocol for a new chemical she is using and that one of the other girls might have something more engaging for me to follow. It didn’t seem like she was trying to get rid of me, but that she honestly wasn’t doing anything she thought I would find useful or interesting.

I put the book down to go look for the other woman, a Korean PhD student, probably also in her mid-20s. She was eating lunch with another student, a tall Caucasian man with a slightly effeminate manner. I asked them about shadowing them, but they seemed slightly bothered that I had interrupted their lunch conversation and actually went right back to it after telling me they weren’t sure what they were doing. I felt a bit awkward and slightly annoyed that I had been brushed off, so I left the room and went back to read. After a while, I went to the Korean girl’s office and asked her what she was doing. All of a sudden, she was glad to let me shadow her and let me follow her around, showing me what she was working on, mixing solutions, and so on. She was very friendly and we talked about what I wanted to do after my undergraduate work and what she was planning on doing. We also talked a lot about coffee. There was no flirtation, but our conversation was much friendlier and more involved than other times I have visited her.

After a couple hours following her around and chatting, I dropped by my mentor’s office to let him know my class was over and I would be able to start coming in more often. However, he seemed to be in a bad mood and looked exhausted and slightly annoyed, so I didn’t bother him further. There was no chance for the pheromones to take effect there as I was only there for about a minute and was standing over six feet away from him.

I will have to do further testing in the lab, but it looks like MX399 does have potential in more professional settings. Even if there are better products out there, it doesn’t seem to hurt at all, so people should be safe wearing it in the workplace.

I didn’t notice much in the way of self-effects this time around, but I wasn’t looking as hard either.

Two more reports on the way. I just have to take a break from typing and get something to eat. I also still have about half a bottle of MX399, so plenty more should be forthcoming.

Out and About:

I did this test on June 28th. The humidity was around 85% again and the temperature was in the low to mid 90s. I applied 3 sprays of MX399, 2 to my wrists and 1 to my neck. I didn’t notice any immediate self-effects. I then made a quick trip to the housing department on campus to ask for a housing extension since I was planning on visiting my family for the weekend and would be home on the day of my original checkout. The woman behind the desk, a conservatively dressed Caucasian woman between 60 and 70, was very compliant and told me exactly what I needed to do without asking any questions. She commented that she appreciated that I had come a few days before my anticipated checkout instead of the day of, as they have had problems with people doing that. I left within three minutes with everything taken care of.

I headed down to a new favorite coffee shop. As opposed to the punk crazy atmosphere of the coffee shop from the last post, this coffee shop is very comfortable and pleasant without the artificiality of many chains. It has a little sitting area with chairs and books that is separated from the lobby, so other people coming in and ordering don’t distract you from reading or studying or whatever you happen to be doing. The owner/manager is always there and makes the coffee himself. He is probably in his 50s and I think he is South American, but I’m not sure from where specifically. He was polite and friendly and joked about my total being $7.77 rather than the less fortunate $6.66. I got my mocha (best mocha ever) and a blueberry muffin and headed to the back room.

The back room was empty except for a girl in the corner. She was facing the wall on a laptop, and thus was not much for conversation or observation. I picked up a book and started to read. After about five minutes, an attractive Caucasian woman of around 40 came in her own book. She made eye contact as she sat down at a table near mine, facing in my general direction. I noticed that she looked a little nervous as she started reading her book. I glanced at her multiple times and on three or four occasions caught eye contact. It was always fleeting and slightly nervous. She fidgeted for the duration of her stay, shifting things on her table around or getting up to throw something away. Watching her in my peripheral vision, I’m fairly sure she looked at me or my book a couple times. She seemed to be having difficulty concentrating on her reading and, after getting up to go to the bathroom, she came back, wiped off her table and chair with a napkin, and left. Other than that, I didn’t notice anything else unusual that day.

Fun For the Whole Family?

My next test took place on July 1st. I was at home, visiting my family. My grandmother wanted to take me to get some new clothes, so I figured it would be a good opportunity to test on her and anyone we might encounter while shopping. Before we left, I applied 2 sprays of MX399, 1 to my wrists and 1 to my neck, at around 10:00.

In the car, my grandmother was not silent for a second. She is a fairly intense woman, not the stereotypical cookies and hugs grandmothers of Hollywood. Oldest of nine kids, worked multiple jobs while in college, raised two kids while getting her PhD, then forced to come out of retirement to take care of me and my siblings after family problems. She is neurotically determined that we succeed in life. She usually finds some way to give me shit over something, but today she actually seemed to be in a good mood. She was talkative, but anything negative she said was about other people. I, on the other hand, was relatively quiet, only answering direct questions, and only bringing up subjects of importance, such as housing for the rest of the summer or scholarships. In many ways, the mood I was in was unfamiliar. I felt a keen sense of clarity and concentration. My awareness was animal. For the next hour and a half, I felt the calm assurance of a powerful and cunning carnivore. I felt predatory, not in a sexual sense, but in a nearly intellectual manner. I wanted to get things done, to best both others and myself. I was thinking about things, about concepts in the world and my studies, and making connections, and while I normally second-guess myself and dismiss some of my ideas as silly, I didn’t waver this time. Looking back, I felt like a badass. Looking back, I recognize the same confidence in my banter with the barista at the first coffee shop, though it manifested in a different way because of my surroundings.

We made a trip to the housing office of the local government building to take care of a building/moving permit. My sense of control and power continued. I walked in front of my grandmother, even though she knew where the office was and I didn’t. I listened to her directions and watched her movements to find it easily. In the housing office, I sat and read a book while she handled her affairs. I noticed that I was paying very close attention to other people’s body language without even consciously attempting to or being obvious about it. As we left, my eyes darted over everything, taking it in, memorizing the layout of the office.

A brief interlude: Perhaps these different manifestations of the same absolute confidence have something to do with my surroundings at the time. In the coffee shop, the mood was playful, the banter witty and cynical and sarcastic, exactly what I would expect of the barista that served us. In the car with my grandmother, the mood was not playful. It was a one-track determination to succeed, to dominate. Every detail was important. I stared at the road, was very aware of the cars around us, of our speed, of the sound of the engine. Later, when we went to the housing office, I was aware of stickers on doors, signs, the insignia on the elevator doors. I was very in the moment but also able to think very clearly simultaneously. I am not saying that this is how my grandmother feels. She is often neurotic and tends to be stressed and unable to concentrate on getting something done because she is worried about something else. It seemed more that I was taking her general worldview and injecting it into my own brain, letting it mingle and mix with my thoughtstuffs until something new emerged. That something was actually a little frightening.

After the housing office, we went to the mall. Though I no longer felt the intensity I had felt before, I still acted very in charge, making my own clothing choices and ignoring my grandmother’s comments if, after analysis and careful consideration, I didn’t agree with them. I noticed that she insisted on brighter colors than usual, which I was perfectly fine with. She has typically tried to dress me fairly conservatively, in Dockers and one- or two-tone button up shirts, or tan polos with a couple blue horizontal stripes, or similarly. This time, she said I should go with a little more color. She picked out a button-up with a fairly dense blue and green pattern on it and matched it with a green undershirt. I thought it looked good, but was surprised, because it was actually bolder than anything she’d ever suggested before. When we got to the checkout counter, she actually told the cashier that I had always dressed conservatively and that she was trying to get me to try something a bit brighter but that I was nervous about moving out of the more neutral colors, when she is the one who had always suggested those same neutral colors and conservative clothes for us. What the hell? By this time, it was around 2:00 and we headed back home.

I didn’t notice much for the rest of the day. The primary effects of MX399 seem to last around four hours in my climate.

Great reporting, Vespero. I think the way it could help with ladies - is that if you’re finding a respect vibe with guys that gives you social proof. So try working with that.

I agree, fantastic reports. Plus, you play Go, which means you are a smarty pants (and excellent at noticing patterns). Hooray for Go!

Great reports my friend. I’m getting some odd results myself. Going back and reading some of my old reports to see if I can figure this out.

Raising the Bar:

So far, I’ve been trying to test in a variety of settings with a variety of doses, and this is a continuation of that trend. I had been relaxing most of the day, but a friend came by and asked me and my friends to come to Trivia Night at a local bar. I got dressed and applied three sprays MX399 and two sprays Instant Shine 2x. (2x MX399 to neck, 1x to wrists; 1x IS to neck, 1x to wrists) We then headed to the bar. Once again, I noticed the increase in confidence, and I walked into the bar like I owned it. I noticed far more glances from girls than usual as I passed. I attribute this both to the new, brighter clothes I was wearing and to the confidence with which I carried myself.

Most of the tables in the front room were taken, but there was one left in the back, and my friends and I grabbed it. There were only three of us at this point, but more people were on the way. When they arrived, they took seats at our table and started talking. One of the guys brought a hollowed out watermelon with vodka and sweet basil inside. He immediately started slicing it and offered me the first piece. I didn’t immediately pick up on what spice he had added and asked about it. He seemed to take pleasure in trying to get me to guess and when I realized it was basil, he seemed almost proud of himself, as if he was happy that I approved. He’s gay and dating one of my other guy friends. I didn’t notice anything flirty, but did see an increase in respect.

Later, a couple of the guys ordered a pizza. Even though I hadn’t known about it and so hadn’t contributed any money, one of them told me I was welcome to a a couple slices if I wanted. Since I’m able to grow a full beard, I often just trim for a more rugged look, and I haven’t had a haircut for a while. I look a bit boyish when I shave completely. A friend we hadn’t seen in a while dropped by our table to say hello and complimented me, saying I was rocking the scruffy look and he thought it looked awesome. He asked when I had started doing that and that he hadn’t noticed before (even though I’ve been doing it for quite a while and he has seen me several times since I started.)

The guy who ordered the watermelon was standing to my left with a girl who lives with the guy who invited us to come. I was in the middle of a conversation with someone else, so I didn’t hear the context, but I did catch “that’s because (whatever her name is) has a crush on him,” referring to me. I didn’t notice many indicators from the girl besides eye contact, but she also seemed a bit uncomfortable in the bar and spent most of her time playing darts with another girl. I should have challenged her to a game and seen what would happen.

Overall, I didn’t see an increase in flirtation of serious attraction, but I did get more than usual eye contact from girls around the bar. The guys seemed to show more respect and treated me like an important person, but not someone they would really joke around with. They would include me in the occasional joke and had no problem talking to me, but didn’t seem to want to act goofy around me.

I agree on its own it doesn’t feel like a complete mix. More like its a buffer or needs steering. Adding IO or Ishine and then some none or P83 to it smooths it out.

When I wore it out to bars and clubs I got a really skewed perspective. It just seemed like guys didn’t want much to do with me and girls were stand-offish. I think that’s because it wasn’t the party vibe. At first I thought I’m in this no nonsense mood but then, after introspection, I realize it was actually zonking the energy from me. I wasn’t about no-nonsense as I was just anti-social from being tired.

Quite frankly it reminds me quite a bit of a putative and the more I contemplate it, the more I realize it has a lot of the same properties as A1. Women want to get close and comfortable, but you and most guys around you don’t want to bother with it. Perhaps epi-A1

I’ve tested a few times now with IS, and I do agree that it rounds the mix out a bit. I haven’t tested with P83, though I may try that next. However, I can’t say I noticed an energy-sapping effect. Rather, at times, I noticed an very apparent focusing of energy and concentration. Afterwards, things simply returned to normal. Perhaps this is just due to a difference in neurotransmitter levels or some similar variable, however. The guys around me were fairly respectful and didn’t seem to be shying away. The girls, however, didn’t really approach and I didn’t notice a comfort-increasing effect.

Said the Master To the Student:

Today, I wore one spray MX399 and one spray IS, both applied to my neck and spread on my wrists and neck. I went to tutor a student in math in the nearby area. I’ve tutored the girl several times before. She is a Caucasian girl around 13, though she was born prematurely and so is very small and probably hormonally not typical for a 13-year-old. She needs help in math and I have been helping her ascertain her problem areas and correct them, as well as attempting to pique her interest in a subject that she hasn’t particularly enjoyed up to this point.

I didn’t notice a large change in her behavior, but she did seem to be paying closer attention to the lesson and seemed a bit more comfortable with me. She was very respectful and asked questions when she didn’t really understand something, asking me to go back to it and explain it again. In the past, I have sometimes wondered if she has neglected to tell me that she was having trouble with something because she has been embarrassed to admit to not understanding it. However, this was not a problem today, as she readily let me know when she was not sure of something. She also seemed more receptive to my suggestions for what she should do to practice until our next session.

After the lesson, I typically talk with her grandmother about what we covered. I noticed that her grandmother’s mode of speech was slightly different. When she came outside, she actually cursed a couple of times while talking to me. This seemed to be due to a perception that she was talking to an equal, rather than a college student and someone younger than her around whom she should be careful choosing her words. In a way, it also signaled a form of respect and comfort. She regarded me as someone around whom she could speak freely but respectfully.

Well that concludes it for me. I know exactly what this mix is , but no I’m not revealing anything. As always great reporting V

Danke schön, Steve! Such a show-off, though. Give the rest of us a bit of time, will you? Sheesh!

Like a True Scientist:

Today, I decided to try something a little different from the straight MX399 and IS I had been wearing. Steve mentioned a possible pairing with P83 in a previous reply, and I had been thinking about that for a while. I was planning to go shadow in the lab today, so after dressing up a bit in a striped blue button-up, khaki slacks, and brown leather shoes, I applied the following:

Three sprays MX399 (1 to wrists, 2 to neck)
Two sprays Instant Shine 2x (1 to wrists, 1 to neck)
One spray P83 at 15mcg/spray = 15mcg P83 (to neck)

And lastly, on a whim,
Two sprays P93 at 5mcg/spray = 10mcg P93 (1 to wrists, 1 to neck)

I headed in to the lab and was just walking around peering into the offices to see if anyone was up to anything particularly interesting. In the shared back room, where the solutions and materials are prepared, I came across one of the few people in the lab I hadn’t really spoken to yet, a fairly pale, freckled girl of around 23, very pretty, and clearly intelligent as well. She was using a vibratome to prepare hippocampal slices from an adult rat. When I entered, she initially only looked up from her work to say hello, but I persisted, explaining that I was looking for people to shadow and asking if she could possibly explain what she was doing to me (although I already knew). She seemed glad to, and over the course of the conversation, we talked about our work in the lab, our plans for after school, revising the scientific paradigm and scientific grant system, and quite a few other things.

She seemed delighted to have someone to talk to, and a couple times she actually seemed to get so caught up in what she was talking about that she would lose her words and trail off in speech-like sounds, then look slightly embarrassed and blush before picking back up again. I followed her back to her office and we continued talking about writing scientific papers and how, in addition to presenting interesting, accurate information, writers should strive for elegance and beauty in presenting scientific ideas, and whether actually doing this is even possible in all cases. While we talked, I paid close attention to her body language. She alternated between fairly open stances, with her hand on one hip, feet spread, and direct eye contact, and standing with her side facing me, feet closer together, looking out over her desk as she talked. At one point, I said something about reading information from graphs and as I made a little motion with my hands and said something, she did the same thing exactly, mirroring the gesture and my words with about a quarter- to half-second delay. To me, this strongly indicates how closely she was following the conversation and my own body language. I also noticed a lot of extended eye-contact, large pupils, and occasionally, what looked like more blushing.

After a little while, she decided to go get lunch. I should have asked to join her, but was slightly intimidated by the age difference (only three or four years, yes, but I somehow feel that girls simply won’t give a younger guy a chance, despite no real experience with them) and also didn’t want to overwhelm her with my sudden constant presence. However, she did tell me when she would be back in the lab and doing experiments, and said I should come by and watch if I liked. I told her to be expecting me and headed to get lunch myself.

While at lunch, I noticed people giving me a wider berth than normal. A large African-American man of around 45 said “Excuse me,” as he passed me, even though he hadn’t come close enough to bother me. Walking to my car afterwards, an African-American girl of about 10 also said “Excuse me,” as she passed around me on the sidewalk, despite not causing me to go out of my way or be inconvenienced in any way.

Continued, sort of:

So, I was going to go back and gauge further reactions from this mix, but I “accidentally” applied two sprays of ICM 2.0. I was a little wary at first, but I will just say that things turned out fine. I’ll write up a little report on that later. Thanks for an ungodly amount of hair-flipping and extended eye contact, blushing, and occasional outright flirting, Steve. At least until her boyfriend popped in to tell her he was heading to jujitsu. :-0

Hahha, bummer!
Great reports Vespero

Notice how he tried to blame it on me?

I mentioned this girl in a previous post in this thread. Today, I noticed her sitting in the food court when I went to get lunch. I made eye contact with her from across the seating area as I went to get a seat. Over the course of lunch, I caught her staring at me probably four or five times, from about 60 feet away. I would pass my eyes over her very quickly or angle my head so she wouldn’t be able to tell I wad looking at me, and she definitely watched me walk all the way across the cafeteria and stared at me when I say down. I assumed the guy was joking, but maybe she really does have a crush. Hm…
