hello everyone and happy thanksgiving, one more thing to be thankful for here as my girlfriend just gave birth to my firstest eva bebe, a 2.7 kilo bundle of “suay mak mak”, she has no name yet since it’s traditional here to have a monk choose the name based on day of birth for good luck.
Gratz on the baby. =] Very happy for u.I just love babies(volunteer in a hospital near the babies, I love going behind the glass and looking at them all of them it was adorable ).=]
thanks everyone. as for the name, many thai’s believe that if someone says your “real” name that a bad spirit can find you so they all go by nicknames since bad spirits are apparently unable to navigate their way around that trickery.
her mother chose her nickname last night and while thai’s tend to change their nicknames several times in their lives (especially if they’ve gotten themselves into trouble, bad debts etc haha) she will be known as jasmine but to say it right (like a thai haha) you have to say jass meen.
her mother, btw, has never been on this website and has no idea that that name was already taken.
