Ambergris is a fixative not a pheromone. Its used in perfumes to create a musky scent. Some claim it to be an aphrodisiac because when rubbed against the skin it helps you release natural pheromones but studies only indicate this with the solid form.
My opinion is its attraction comes from the musky scent which triggers a memory response to musky areas of the human anatomy. It doesnt work like a pheromone.
