The above cited published findings were presented at the Association for Chemoreception Sciences conference in April 2006 (at least in part) as: BRAIN ACTIVATIONS TO CHEMICAL SIGNALS.
I recall posting that information to the other Forum before I was banned for introducing too much science. I mention this time frame to indicate how it may be important to know about current findings, which others may not see for months (in this case, 30+, months). If a marketer can’t see what’s coming, they might get blindsided when the research shows their ploys are simply ploys. I’m glad the science is welcome here.
The problem was that 1: DrSmellThis, a psychologist with no expertise in human pheromones and 2: Archetypical Hybrid (HEC), a reseller of illegal imported chemicals wanted to argue about psychobabble and the importance of a non-existent human VNO, respectively. When people are marketing products using premises like they were and are also posting anonymously, there’s no one to sort through the BS. That plays well if the marketer wants everyone to try every new product regardless of what it contains and who its coming from, but doesn’t set well with someone like me who actually does the research before making claims. I’m not one to disclose who these folks are, but the reseller’s case made the news. Last I knew, he was awaiting sentencing. So far as the psychologist is concerned, his “pheromone analogues” were no different than any other fragrance additives–so far as I know. I think I was spoiling their party.
