Oceanic Effectiveness

Ok, so let me start off with the thought that originally set me down this path of thought. I was curious whether the OD’ing from one pheromone and the ghosting that would result would limit the effectiveness of the other pheromones being worn by someone. So in other words, if someone was wearing enough androstenone to be ghosted by women standing close by, would the alpha androstenol they were also wearing be registered and acted upon (obviously not with the source, they’re ghosted ), or would this signal also be classified as the same signature as the androstenone and ignored as well?

So that’s the original thought… then came up the idea that i’ll be going to the beach in a few weeks and i remembered an interesting fact about “the smell of the ocean.” That memorable smell comes from dimethyl sulfide produced by phytoplankton in the ocean… for the most part. However, it also comes from algae pheromones called dictyopterenes. Hmmm… so part of this most memorable smell are pheromones, although not human ones. I then became curious as to whether people who live next to the ocean and are exposed to these dictyopterenes on a daily basis would come to have a higher threshold for pheromones. I suppose that’s also dependent on whether the human brain can interpret pheromones that are not originated (or replicated) from human sources. If that were the case, people using pheromones on an oceanfront area would need to up their dosages to get the same responses from the people around them…

Anyways, just a thought that popped into my head. I’d be much obliged if the older members would give some thoughts on the matter. Thanks!

No in most instances the anol will buffer the effects of the anone. Tone them down a bit unless the ratio was way way off and the anone dosage was well over the anol dosage

No because they will process these differently. They are not human mones and at least here at androtics they only use human mones. They do use synthetic animals and plant musks sometimes. Musks have no pheromonal value as far as I know they are used as a fixative in perfumery.

i used to live on the ocean in rhode island,
and i can say that i was probably even more sensitive to pheromones, if that is even possible.

to humor the idea that people near the ocean may be somewhat desensitized by the pheromones in the ocean, i would think there would also be some statistical correlation between all the things we know pheromones are responsible for and/or help with.

for instance, are there more unhappy sex lives in couples that live near the ocean?

im just tooling around here…
