Other Uses of Pheromones

I just posted a study on “Fear Pheromones” The Smell Of Fear

Although this would not be useful to anyone picking up women… I imagine it has three applications:

  1. Commercial use for gamblers, chess players and the like… when you want to induce others into playing or behaving more aggressively rather than rationally.

  2. Military and police applications for non-lethal force.

  3. As a tool of persuasion -ie. to seem convincing when expressing fear.

Just my two cents.

Additional uses:

  • training of dogs and people to recognise the scent characteristic of fear. Useful for police dogs, interrogators, psychologists, etc.

  • inducing panic in crowds. For instance, spray into the air in a crowded theatre prior to yelling “fire!” Could have military uses on the battlefield.

  • false indicator of fear in others. If interrogating two prisioners seperately can give the false impression the other prisioner is scared.

  • false indicator of fear in self. For interest a life insurance salesman explaining risks or a physician trying to sell an unneeded but profitable operation.

Olfactory/pheromonal stimuli (e.g., pheromones) that mask the scent of fear. For example, metabolites of dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) in ratios that are manifest as indicators that the wearer’s cortisol level is lower, and testosterone level is higher, than that of a fearful competitor.
