Oxytocin-is it a phero?

Could we reduce love to a pill? Maybe, says expert | Science | Reuters

This article talks about how oxytocin can help women form a closer bond with her mate. I have searched online and have run into some oxytocin colognes, my question is does it work like pheros? Anybody have any experiences with such a product?

It’s not so much a product as it is a chemical released in women when they orgasm… that “makes them feel closer and more bonded to you” after sex. UNLESS you couldn’t take them that far… LOL

hmm so are the oxycotin products out in the market legit?

it is a brain neurotransmitter. The emotional hormone. The stuff that makes you cry happy tears.

The product is Liquid Trust (LT). Use the search function. You cannot buy it here, but it has been discussed on the forum. I like it.

Its a hormone, In the body it fires the neurotransmitters. The problem is it dosnt last once its out of the body like a pheromone does. Its a volatile molecule with a short life span if not kept refrigerated. But some companies are playing with it. As Warren mention Liquid trust is the most popular.

thats right it’s a hormone but it also acts as a neuotransmitter in the brain.
It has many roles. What brings about this curiosity, what have you heard mr squall?

Don’t ask me why I know this, my brain is full of useless information but I was involved for many years with a gal that was an ob/gyn (and a wikipedia refresher). Oxytocin has several effects on the body including stimulating labor and lactation and is routinely given to women during labor to help move things along. Its emotional effects are caused by its release in the brain as oxytocin does not pass the blood/brain barrier. And the half life for oxytocin is only 3 minutes and is only absorbed by mucus membranes (and that method of delivery has no effect on the brain, which to work in any way sexually needs to happen) It is broken down in the digestive tract and will not enter the bloodstream on skin. As a prescription drug it is usually injected and administered with an IV in large part because of its short half life requires a near constant drip for a period of time to achieve useful results. It has been tried several times as a nasal spray but with little effect.

Because of all that it would be nearly impossible to administer it in any way useful outside of a medical situation. That said, it does truly have many of the effects as described, but the trick would be to find ways to increase the production of it in a womans mind, not to spray it on yourself like a cologne or other pheromones.

the amino acid l-arginine is responsible for increasing oxytocin levels in the brain.
