Pheromones are not made for open air?

When searching the forums it is often advised to use pheromones inside only, because pheromones do not work on open air. But when look back to the origin of pheromones - the nature has created pheromones to control animals behavior. But animals usually live on open air and especially lepidopterans can find each other miles away through pheromones. And moreover I could not imagine that the nature has developed pheromones for the humans in the late20th / early 21th century that they can reproduce it synthetic to turn the opposite sex. So why pheromones should not work on open air???

Where did you see a statement about them not working in the open air? While I agree, I have used them indoors for the most part, they do work outdoors as well - the only exception I could think of is when it is raining heavily. I am not so sure how much the wind affects the perception, but I believe that once you find yourself in a hurricane, the pheromone effectiveness is the least of your concerns.

They work in open air just not always as quickly as in an smaller enclosed environment.

Ya all got a point. Wind is a huge problem, unless you can position yourself so the wind blows in target direction without anyone noticing.
For outdoors with medium strong wind I sometimes use 200-300% the normal dosage and get normal effects when the wind blows and od effects when it doesn’t. If I use normal dosage I barely get any effects unless there’s absolutely no wind. I’m a daygamer and love street game and sometimes on windy days I don’t even bother using mones.

But you’re right, a general statement like pheromones do not work outdoors is false.

Yes, pheros still work but the far greater air volume and air movement means they diffuse away from you much faster - so the overall impact is far less.

What I find is that you need to work much closer than you would indoors and look to natural shelter to preserve your phero cloud. A still, warm day will still give you reasonable performance compared to a cold and windy one though. I also find that more complex mixes are far less useful outdoors - keep it simple and direct all the way.

And the opposite of this of course is very enclosed spaces with more limited air movement - cars and the like. The effect of pheros is far greater, to the point where you need to dose right down.
