I just ran across this threadon Basenotes. The first post of the thread reads:
“I’m noticing MUCH more sillage from my fragrances by applying it to lower parts of my body then where I was applying them, on my neck and behind my ears.
I noticed I never really got a whole lotta sillage by applying to my neck and behind my ears. It seemed like fragrance just raised up above everyone’s noses.
Anyway, by applying to the CHEST (upper and lower chest) and INNER ELBOW, I’m getting TONS of sillage. I was always afraid that applying under clothing would be counter productive to achieving sillage, but I’m way wrong. It seems fragrances are now radiating around my entire upper body.”
So I am wondering, could the same thing hold true for pheromones? Could spraying them on the neck and wrists only lead to a short quick diffusion as opposed to spraying on underneath? And if you spray underneath clothing, will the pheros be able to escape to diffuse at all?
I apply to crotch, belly, chest & hair (back of head) and it works great. If I’m wearing short sleeves I’m apply to forearms as well. So I have momes on skin and clothing at various heights. Thus, I’m ready for short and tall subjects and while nekid or clothed. I like to keep it away from my face and neck as alcohol ain’t that great for skin care and I don’t wanta get drunk on my own pheromones…
Clearify this please, You spray to the outside of pants in this area correct? This is another bacteria rich enviroment and it could lead to smelliness and rash. Be careful when spraying here.
Diffusion and sillage are a little different. Diffusion is the molecules leaving your body and entering someones nasal cavity
Sillage is the distance the scent will travel from the body. You dont need to smell pheromones for them to work.
You will get less diffusion if you spray and then cover yourself up with cloths. Cloth tends to adsorb and hold onto molecules but it will still release some just not at as many. You may need to play with your dosage. So the dosage on skin will be different then the dosage on cloths.
I have used both methods and had some other pheromone users recently test on both on skin and cloths and the stronger effects of pheromones works better on skin then on cloths. You get more subtle effects with cloths applications but the subtle effects seem to last longer on cloths then on skin so there are good and bad points.
I am not saying people shouldnt use them on cloths at all. We are all different and live in different enviroments and this is another one of those things that you need to test of to see what works best for you. In the winter months as climate changs we need to adapt to our enviroment.
My crotch and belly are always fully clothed in designer threads when I apply pheromones. Obviously it’s pretty useless otherwise unless nekid. Haven’t noticed any smell or rash. Not too many mones can penetrate both pants 'n drawers! Women oft wear thinner clothing so might be a problem for some outfits. My head and upper chest are nekid so the molecules adhere to skin 'n hair.
Man…thinking about it, I might have the same problem. I’m 6 feet tall, so I am taller than most girls… I will try on my belly next time. Do you think it is ok to spray on the belly and put a shirt? Do you think a sueter will stop the pheros to spread?
I actually tried the “pit trick” a couple times and the smell became hellishly rank in a matter of 30 minutes (tropical climate). The smell of rotten androstenone is similar to roadkill skunk mingled with old pee. After a couple hours I had to give up and go home just to shower.
