Scent – Im not the biggest FF21(I like FF22 so Im not scared of diminished masculinity from flowery scents) fan but I think the way I felt it induced from this mix was just right. It is quite reminiscent of Green Irish Tweed or even Davidoff Coolwater for a cheaper measure. It wore a little closer to the skin than the FF21 scent from Ammo and I found it quite charming.
Self Effects – On the way to the mall everything was about normal. I didn’t really notice any real mind shift or mood shift it was just natural. I went through Macy’s women cosmetic/ perfume area and no anxiety at all. I normally have this phobia of the women’s counter and try to rush through it as fast as possible but today no concern. Throughout the course of going through this mall then another mall I was in good spirit. I didn’t do that much talking but my personality felt fluid today. I could say I was calm or relaxed but those words don’t quite fit what I was feeling. My demeanor was open and expansive with the most profound thing being that when I smiled or chuckled or laughed at something I experienced or saw for whatever reason (non pheromone related result) that I didn’t get this self conscious retraction where I force myself to stop smiling/laughing because I always have this thing about conducting myself (I don’t know if anyone gets that but anyway lol). You know how hard liquor burns when you take a shot? Well this was smooth as silk and I know I wanted more.
Today I decided to give searching for the infamous “game” scent. I first went through the mall to get to the men’s department of Macy’s. When I got there I intentionally lingered around the cologne counter so that someone would serve me. Me and this older lady exchanged the usual pleasantries between salesperson and customer. I told her my deal was that I needed to find something similar. As I told her I needed to find something similar to this I handed to her a bottle of MX336. She proceeded to spray generously onto the sample card about 3-4 times and Ill admit that I half winced in my mind. I don’t know if it was out of cockiness or her qualifying herself as someone perfect for the job but she actually had the audacity to tell me that shes been doing this for 27 years and that shes the only one who could do this. I figured this was her job and I’ll let her praise herself for the brief moment in time. She told me to come to the front counter so I proceeded to do so. Before we got to the scent showdown I locked eyes with one of her younger lackey’s which was a lighter brown ebony girl. I know rule of thumb is don’t take everything as a hit but the amorous comfort I discerned from her eyes was simply attraction. It wasn’t a DIHL or any of those uncomfortable 1/2 nervous/ 1/3 giddy / 1/5 disbelief of my presence sort of looks but a organic chemistry (not the school kind) with none of the bullshit. I rarely rarely get these and there are always at the inopportune times/places.
Now to get on with the testing she proceeded to throw about 4 fresh scents at me one after another. Nautica, D&G, etc but just to say none of them smelled like game. Two of them were different sorts of fresh but had a odd note of pepper after the opening which I did not like. The last one opened like the old Issey Miyake I used to use in middle school. I told her my disappointment and she pointed out that she it isn’t gonna be exactly the same. I kinda pouted intentionally to show my disinterest saying this was a sample insinuation this is what I wanted. I told her I’d think about it when it came to the others. NEVER buy something without spraying it on yourself. Always get a sample or a decant before you go all in unless you don’t mind buying 50 and under colognes blindly.
I walked around a little bit more but all the scent counters were kinda busy and I kinda lost interest in the whole thing. I was walking back at I ended up being stopped by this booth lady. Florida Career College is always advertising in the paper and on TV I couldn’t understand why they need people in person trying to pitch it. Anyway she tried pitching me and I told her I go to school already. She asked me where and I told her Broward. Somehow she decided to ask me for help. Im quite a sucker and try to listen to people even if im not interested mones or no mones. So she went over her presentation a little quicker than usual going over each and every thing. She proceeded to ask me if I knew anybody and I lied and told her I knew 2 people. She wanted to elaborate a little more as to what I needed to do. I basically had to see if it was okay for a recruiter to call them and/ or perhaps have them take a tour around the campus. She then asked me again if I could do that for her. I told her I’d have to do some counseling first. She smiled a little seemingly seeing a good quality at the notion. She told me no pressure and then went on to ask if it was okay to give me her card which she then scratched out the numbers and put her own number there (How unprofessional to not have your own card!). Anyway she told me it was no pressure and to have a good day. When I turned around I had my second and only discernable hit of the day. Just as I was turning around from the FCC both this tall Indian/desi girl who was running the both directly next to this both did a head snap accompanied with a hair play whip. I almost didn’t believe it but the dude who was sitting with her turned his head around in my direction to see what was amidst. This girl wanted to get my attention and she certainly did but I wasn’t gonna hang around and play on it.
When I went to the other mall and I looked into 2 more scent shops there. First one tried to swindle me by just throwing promotional scents and whatever she felt pitching after I tried to get her to smell the game scent. This is after me telling her I wanted a fresh scent. One was too sweet and another was too pronounced. She asked how much I was willing to spend and I told her quite frankly that if I find it I’ll spend whatever it costs. She thought I got offended and told me that she just wants to please me. My foot she wants to please me. As soon as another guy came around she was on him like flys to shit and that was my greenlight to leave. Second one was the fairly cute Caucasian girl. No hits from her at all and she seemed quite demure although kind. She asked me if I needed help and I told her I was looking around. Oddly enough I was using the porche sample card to spray on the Azzaro/ Nautica collection they had there. She mumbled something to me but I didn’t catch it. She came around again to tell me that she thinks that all those are sprayed. So she fiddled around in the drawer and gave me some blank ones. I spent about 15-20 minutes going through each of scents repeated but no traceable match for Game. Game scent nowhere to be found and a cute girl with no sales edge at all is what I was left with.
Last thoughts: I wont sensationalize anything. I got some hair flips from older ladies but that wasn’t prominent enough to be called hits. When I entered Macy’s though a Older women 50’s actually held the door for me in a Chivalrous manner (she held the door like a bellhop and just smiled at me through her sunglasses). It was odd and I almost took it uncomfortably haha. The cosmetic counter women were unusually pleasant to me, which was odd because that’s usually reserved for their potential women customers since no men ever linger by themselves in this part of the store. I got general respect hits for the most part from men so the androstenone sig is apparent even though its well disguised in this mix.
P.S. I’m going to test the pack more when I go to New York in a week or so. If I disappear from the radar for too long notify the authorities =P
I think looking for Game scent is pretty futile. Unless AD tells us who sells it and they actually sell in small quantities to regular folk were SOL. If anyone has any ideas how to utilize the rest of my bottle to perhaps learn some of the notes ( I have a pretty good nose but Im not familiar with all essential oils) let me know.
