I honestly thought I was going to “die” yesterday for not completing homework. Well, that was what I thought on Monday. Didn’t sleep well on Monday night, which resulted in a 4 hour sleep and waking up at 3am to finish the damn thing (it’s draping class - you put fabrics on mannequins and try to work the pieces out). Well, I didn’t finish it, but my final thought before I left the flat was, “If I die, everybody else dies with me!” That’s because I know that not many people would have finished this particular homework since it’s a difficult and time consuming piece - we had to make 2 bodices, 1 sleeve and a collar, and we had to hand stitch everything together - and I take ages to do hand stitches. But still, dabbing some pheros can’t go wrong, so other than the usual I/S A, I. Shine and I. Openness, I added 3 sprays of MX134.
I have no idea why, but the teacher didn’t even bother to check this weeks homework, and he’s always questioned us and checked in the past weeks. And to top it off, his tone somehow pinned me as “favourite student of the day”. Or can I say I became that teacher’s pet of the day?
It went something like this: He was doing a demonstration on draping some collars and we were all huddled onto my work area because the space is easier to gather around. And he starts the demo…and saying things like “borrow Richis table - not my table today, Richis table…I draw straight line…(draws) thank you Richis…Richis is class secretary, very good!” (Background check: my teacher is a mid-aged Egyptian man, so he sounds a bit funny in the way he speaks, and I’m the only person in the class to speak 100% fluent English - everybody else is native Chinese who could bearly understand what the teachers say and need language lessons.) Honestly, if he went on any longer, everybody would envy me even more.
So…it turned out to be a pretty good lesson after all, despite the fact that I’m not this teacher’s fan because he’s so fussy.
