I never liked most versions of the Kama Sutra I’ve read. The cartoon like illustrations of penises bending here or here do my head in after awhile.
Anne Hooper’s book is okay, but that’s not online.
Well, here’s portions of the Kama Sutra illustrated online with not just real people (which makes it easier to understand), but the the little Russian number in it is pretty cute. You can easily learn as you admire, and I bet you’ll remember the postures FAR more easily than if you merely studied illustrations. What more can you ask for?
I can ask for chocolate in Russian, profess my love in Russian and toast chilled vodka over caviar in Russian. I thought that was all I would ever need to know in that language. Alas, my knowledge was too limited to read the descriptions.
So guys, make sure to find the tiny little link in the top right hand corner that says “English version”.
same here, i took a years worth of russian in college and really enjoyed it. i’ve studied spanish, french, russian, japanese, portuguese and norwegian and i really like the russian language. it’s been a few too many years since college for me to read the page without a russian/english dictionary at the ready but i’m still having fun reading the words.
Much better than the illustrated Kama Sutras I have seen, but still… hmm, for me as a photographer, the facial expression is key. They thankfully avoided the ridiculous overreaching porno-style expressions, but they seem to have gone too far in the other direction, leaving me wondering, “Are they even aware of eachother in some of these images?” Anne Hooper’s photography seems to do a better job in that regard. Still, some very interesting and useful information here. Some of the images strike a very artistic chord, too. It never crossed my mind that sexual positions could be artistic in nature, but then, I never saw those positions before. lol
