I was worried about this one when I purchased it, after reading that a lot of people disliked the smell of it.
I, myself, love the smell of it. Call me crazy. And it doesn’t smell like weed to me. It smells like Sage, pine, herbs, and a bit oceanic. A friend of mine said it reminds him of camping. The smell helped relax me last night when I used it for the first time, and I slept like a BABY.
What do you think?
Dr. Fedora, sorry but it doesn’t matter as it is extremely important in the diffusion of the molecules itself. It’s an essential oil that produces a spacey effect. Without the EO scent it would not diffuse properly and therefore not be called Spaceland anymore.

I know it needs the herbal component to it but i hate it. OMG i sprayed (3 sprays) it on gave it 3~4 hrs to work felt nothing.I was going crazy obsessing with the smell(maybe thats what went wrong for me)couldn’t stand it i thought it would eventually fade it never did i felt like it was glued into my nostril.I couldn’t take it i had to end it. I jumped in the shower and scrubbed it off.
I used in 3 different occasions couldn’t finish my test.I kept going insane with the smell obsessing over it.This is one product that does not work for me.
oh don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the way it smells and I didn’t want to give people the idea that we’re all voting to change it. I was just curious to see what others thought of it. A friend of mine said it reminded him of camping, and another said he felt like driftwood. The poll was just out of curiosity to see who likes/dislikes it. It is a rare and unique scent. Spaceland should remain always remain spaceland, and I hope it stays as a permanent product.

On the same note as perrai, I too had the same experience, but I’ve learned to love it since. Good stuff, if you can get over the smell
Well, you could find a better EO to aid diffusion. The clary sage scent is a cross between hippie ass and a headshop and funked up to da max. I’d rather go old skool hippie ass with patchouli oil. I put some patchouli on a leather coat in 1972 and I can still smell it…
everyone has a different idea about the smell. i happen to love it because it smells clean to me, as in just out of the shower and not yet doused in cologne clean. each of us are different and our body chemistry reacts differently with each scent. i can’t tolerate the chocolate scented products whether they are from androtics or axe or anyone else, as much as i love chocolate the scented products make me gag.
the fact that i can still smell neroli after a few hours is a bonus. my girls like it too and the fact that most of the products can be ordered or come standard with neroli is a bonus to me.
p.s. i hate patchouli and would consider signing a petition to have it made illegal lol.
Actually, I’m not that fond of patchouli either. Nevertheless, if one must smell like a frickin’ hippie from 1969, might as well go whole hog instead of that half-assed clary sage stank.
that’s the thing, we all have different smellers and perceive the same things in completely different ways. to me, neroli is in no way hippieish but rather smells like a decent soap i might use in the shower.
oh well, that’s why they make neroli, chocolatini, grapefruit, the game, akuto, unfragranced etc.
Neroli smells somewhere between rotten fruit and fermented orange peels. Not a nice scent but weak enough it can be covered with a decent cologne.
totally agree, i don’t hate neroli as much as spaceland smell but at least it can be covered well

It’s not there to aid diffusion too much.
It does a bit, since plant odors carry much further than human, but we could much better aid diffusion with synthetic or real animal musks (which carry like a hurricane).
It is really locked into the this particular EO used at the moment, especially this one particular strain grown in a particular region. It has a higher percentage of a chemical that’s interested us.
There’s still hope we can alter or minimize the scent, though. Perhaps someday we can just fractionate that chemical of interest off, and reduce the odor from the other components. That’d be a good experiment, but we’d need to make Spaceland itself a higher volume product to justify the chemistry costs of isolation. To make it higher volume (i.e., to sell it off this website), we’d also need to reduce the synthesis costs of the particular androstenol used in it. But then it might not feel as “giddy” without that particular, extra high purity synthesis.
The EO, too, we’d hope it’d work as well if chemical of interest was isolated. It’s a tough call w/o actually going through with the process.
There’s always a few interdependent factors that work together like this. Sometimes projects like this end up working like gangbusters, other times they’re a little less successful than we’d prefer.
I just got mine today. It smells very herbal. To some people this is a good thing but I am not exactly a fan of herbal smells. And it doesn’t smell like pot to me either. I stop noticing the smell about 5-10 minutes after application so I am sure I can cover it up if I feel the need.
Maybe it’s just me, but for me it smells nigh exactly like an x-mas tree. It works out well because of the time of year, but it comes off strong to begin with, you’re right. I only try this product when i know i’ll have 15-20 min. to let it settle down.
Ya, I would classify it as more of a pine smell with a little something else I can’t put my finger on at the moment. I have a feeling my girlfriend will like it for some strange reason…
Here’s a thing that I have noticed about Spaceland, if you spray it on your hair the smell stays a little longer, but very faintly. If you spray it on your neck it also dies down, and the smell as well (much more than on the hair.) So it’s not that bad.
While in the shower washing my hair, I can so notice the Spaceland smell running down along with the water. Not as strong though! I love it, I actually voted as loving the smell.

i thought that the [new smell] to go sample of spaceland that i recieved last summer smelled nice and was as effective as the regular spaceland. i haven’t read much about the the new smell to go samples. i can t totally remember how it smelled and i used up my bottle rather quickly but i favored it over the regular spaceland. i have used almost two bottles of the regular spaceland btw. its a very fun mix and in my world it hs its place in the various phero mix chain
From what I have been told, Spaceland never had a “new” scent change. However, I don’t think it even needs it. I love it so much that I even feel like spraying my self with it right now, only thing is that it’s my day off and I’m at home bumming it with my family. So no reason to even spray my self with it! Just like I’ve said, Spaceland adds fun to your fun!
