I was on a trip with a bunch of friends yesterday. One of them owns a car repair shop and the others work for him. I help them out with some welding once in a while and they’ve given me some space in the shop to do my own jobs too. So I see them daily and we have a couple of beers just about every night (a habit I’ll have to kick sometime soon).
I wore two drops of A314, three sprays of regular Ammo, one spray IHx2, and two sprays ISx2.
One of these guys is an asshole and everybody thinks so. The boss hasn’t fired him yet just because he’s too soft. The rest of them are great. This day however the boss and the asshole were constantly busting my balls. All kinds of remarks all the time. I didn’t care, just smiled through it all, which resulted in even more shit being thrown at me. I just wouldn’t give them the pleasure of throwing me off balance so the jokes and the tone got more and more mean with every beer we drank.
The third guy behaved the total opposite. He was being very polite and looked like he didn’t understand why the other two were trying so hard to piss me off. After a couple of hours the boss finally said “You know we’re just kidding, right? We all love you, man.” And I really wasn’t bothered, which obviously bothered the hell out of them.
After that things were back to normal. No more testing and I got my food and all drinks for free until I bought two rounds because I was starting to feel awkward letting the others pay. One of the guys protested and said the drink I bought for him cost waaay more than the one he got for me. The difference really wasn’t that big and finally he accepted it.
I haven’t had quite this kind of thing happen to me before. Not like this, with all shit and jokes pointed towards me alone. An interesting experience.
