After the three songs are up, she curls up in my lap and we just sit for a little bit while I rubbed her back. She said that getting a dance bought us more time to chill out in the booth for a bit. That’s when I “probed” for a reaction from the TUTH.
Now, it was at this point that I was trying to figure out the best way to approach the phone number subject. I’d remember reading a newsletter from David D’Angelo about going for an email address first, since email is more a social thing and less likely to generate LMR. The trick to it is while they’re writing their email address down, you casually add in “Oh, and put your number down, too.” I asked about email, and she said that she was in the middle of switching from phone company net access to cable, and that she didn’t have her new address yet. She said she should have it by next week. I was a little bummed, thinking that this was probably a soft “No, you’re not getting my email address, you bum!” I had told her previously that my schedule over the next couple of weeks was up in the air, and I reminded her of that, as heard in the audio clip I posted. When she asked me if I had my phone on me so she could put her number in it, I was kind of shocked at how easy that was. I never even had the chance to ask for it!
“The problem is that there’s a very real chance that I might not be able to get back in her any time soon,” I told her (for those who can’t hear the audio). “Do you have your phone on you right now?” she replied. I did an internal doubletake. “Yes.” “Take it out. I’ll give you my cellphone number here…” <scrambling for my phone sitting in the cup on the side of the booth reserved for “pocket junk”> “…and then you can call ME… with whatever’s going on… if that’s okay. If that sounds alright…” “Yeah, that’s fine!” “Okay!”
The look on my face had to be priceless.
She settles back in my lap, and we continue to talk for a bit. She kept saying “Okay, when this song is over, we’ll have to go back out.” About 6 or 7 songs later, I realize I should be getting home. She said she was going to take off, too, and for me to call her phone, which was in her locker, so she’d have my number. I was on my way home when she called and left that message.
We’ve spoken several times since then.
And now… for my last report in the saga of Paradise and Raven… Sunday night. Wow is all I can say. Paradise asked me to call her Sunday after I got off work to let her know if I was going to make it in, so she could be there. She normally is off Sunday, but she spoke with Raven who planned on being there, and they wanted to double dance me before I lost the chance to catch them both on the same night. I couldn’t get over how excited they were to do that. Heh.
So, wingie and I get there at a little before 6, when they planned on being there. We’re both drinking extra large energy drinks, so we finish them with a smoke before we get in the club. Now, my friend looks and dresses JUST LIKE MYSTERY. It’s insane, because it’s completely natural for him, and he only recently heard of Mystery after catching The Pickup Artist on VH1. So imagine this guy with blue hair in a pony tail, wearing a wicker cowboy hat, all kinds of bracelets, t-shirt that says “I smoke so FUCK YOU”, and baggy plaid golf pants tucked into riding boots. Meanwhile, I’ve got the GQ thing going with a silk shirt, khakis, and my patent leathers. This guy comes out of the club to have a smoke and he asks me “Do you work here?” I kind of look at him with obvious disinterest and say “Maybe…”
Oh, at this point I should mention I’ve got mones on, but not as strong as usual. It’s an A314-heavy mix with just enough Ammo, Shine, and IFM to give a familiar signature to the girls, but with respect amped up a bit. This guy was nothing but respect while he was out there. He didn’t question me further about my working there or not, and just assumed I did. I told my wingie what kind of car Paradise drives, and he directed my attention to one just like it pulling in.
It’s both Paradise and Raven riding together. There’s no door bouncer yet, so I jumped into action. “Ah… they’re here.” Wingie hangs back, but that other guy follows me to their car. I didn’t realize he was there until I said “Hello my lovelies” and he parroted me. Raven looked at him as if he’d just farted, and I turned and said “Ah… yeah, man, no offense and all, but we can’t be crowding the girls when they’re coming in to work. I’m sure you’re cool and all, but it’s for their safety. Can you go over there by the ashtry while we get them inside? I’d appreciate it.” He dropped his head a bit and said “Yeah, sure man.” I looked over at my wingie and he just shook his head. Raven and Paradise were impressed. They flanked me and Paradise leaned over to my ear and said quietly, “That was awesome.” I got the door for them and they went on through. I paid for wingie and myself and we took our seats at my usual table.
Paradise and Raven came from the dressing room in their dance clothes, and Paradise had her referee outfit on again. There was a bachelor party going on with a bunch of people wearing Seahawks jerseys. Naturally, they wanted Paradise to come over. She did, and Raven came over to our table. She said they had to do a Bachelor Party dance soon, but wanted me to watch it for a preview of the double. BP dances involve having the man of honor sit on a chair on stage with his hands behind his back, while all the dancers take turns giving him a very short lap dance each. Paradise gives the guy his own lap dance, and Raven, my wingie, and I sit there watching the guy get a little too touchy-feely for an outside-of-VIP dance. She said “what a pig.” I offerred to go play bouncer, but she said “Nah, Paradise can handle him.” Afterwards, Paradise came to the table, while Raven had to do a stage set. She told me how glad she was that I came, and that the only reason why the both of them were there was to see me. The cynic in me was all “yeah, right”, but my wingman gave me that look that said “Nice, man… Pimp.” She told me she was in a good mood and asked if I’d like to do a VIP. I did, and it was really really good. Really good. No extras (I don’t take those), but quite possibly the best lap dance a person can have while keeping their pants on. Heh.
Near the end of the third song, Raven runs by and says “Next song!” That’s when the BP dance was to take place. When the dance was over, Paradise echoed Raven’s suggestion to watch the stage closely for a preview.
I got back to my table and my wingie said “Let’s go have a smoke.” Uh… I told him that I wasn’t ready for one yet, but to go ahead. As he got up a dancer playing waitress walked up and wingie decides to pseudo-sarge. He wasn’t planning on picking anyone up, but he did like to play around. He was commenting on her tattoo, and I was looking at it as well when the DJ started laying down the rules for the Bachelor on stage. “Sit down, shut up, and keep your hands to yourself.” The first two girls to dance on him just did the usual bump and grind, but then Raven lounged across his lap, spread her legs, and Paradise dropped down to her knees and made like she was going down on her. My jaw dropped. The look on my face was enough to snap my wingie and the waitress out of their convo. Wingie said “Hey, are you alr…” <glancing at the stage> “…oh shit…” The DJ laughed over the mic and said “Yeah… it’s what’s for dinner.” The BP dance ended and I looked at my friend and said “Okay, NOW I want a cigarette.”
