Well maybe the torrnado question are a bit sensetive, but i would appreciate seriuse answer.

You might want to look at this! (http://www.tornadochaser.net/tornalley.html)

Well, there’s not a great chance of seeing a tornado and you REALLY don’t want to be close enough to see one anyway, but, tornado season is pretty much ended now. Typical weather patterns producing, or capable of producing tornados usually occur between April and June.

As far as southern culture and hospitality, we Texans tend to be pretty friendly, but there’s not much of the wild cowboy attitude around anymore. I mean after all, we are a civilized bunch, you know.

But, you are more likely to get a glimpse of southern hospitality in some of the smaller towns. Dallas and Houston are pretty modern and fast paced. Also, if you cross the border into Lousianna you’ll find a deeper southern culture. From Houston or Dallas, it ain’t a far drive at all.

to see tornadoes, you may want to book a tour with one of the storm chaser groups.

I have seen enough, and I have never been to Texas, but then I grew up in Missouri and moved to southern Illinois and both are frimly in “Tornado Alley”
I have followed an F0 tornado home (active funnel cloud)
and I have seen 4 tornadoes on the horizon in Kansas, (we were driving in sunshine in Kansas and could see 4 active thunderstorms with tornadoes.

Southern Illinois has a history of strong & deadly Tornadoes- F4 +

we were digging in a friends yard and found pieces of china dishes we suspected were from the 1925 tornado.

I would say, September would be the best time for big storms, as stronger cold fronts push through the areas, causing severe weather outbreaks.

not many tornadoes out here in Houston, but you just might see a hurricane (which happen to produce tornadoes)

I lived in Houston for years and never saw a tornado (I think that’s a good thang). Here in MN, I’ve had three touch down within a half-mile of my house in the past two years.

Seriously, if I could sell this place, I’d be back to TX faster than a Mormon on a mission.

While I would never discourage a visit to Texas, I’d recommend OK or KS for tornado watching.

In that area of the country, Texas and Oklahoma, tornadoes usually happen in the spring rainstorms that pass over the plains and foothills. Western Oklahoma on the prarie near Oklahoma City gets monster tornadoes, huge ones. 2 years ago when I was in Tulsa I saw a tornado, it was wierd because it was not raining, and was in fact sunny but you could see clouds swirling like a tornado was ready to drop down. It ended up hitting south of the city. There is a Creek Indian legend that a tornado will never hit near the Council Tree in downtown Tulsa Even so, the risk of being killed in a place like Oklahoma isn’t very high as compared to other risks in life. They also have tornado sirens in every large town or city.

Florida also gets alot of tornadoes, more than any other state in fact. They are smaller but potentially if Florida keeps developing, more people will be hit by them. Florida tornado season seems to be somewhat random compared to the plains states. We get tornadoes in the dry seasons and the rainy season, esp. comming off a hurricane. We have tornado sirens in alot of places and they test them every week. We’ve had a tornado pass through this area just a few months ago, and a year ago one was very close and I could hear a very strong wind blowing.

They have tornadoes all over parts of the South and midwest. I was in Montgomery, Alabama one time as a kid living there and it was hit by a tornado and we all had to “duck and cover”.

im from s.e Texas …closer to the Louisiana side. 90 miles east of Houston and if you want to see souther culture at its best then yea we have that too lol. as far as tornado’s …your better off catching a hurricane than a tornado here.

Thanks for all answers =)

Hey wassup fellow Houstonian..Im soo like a month late, but whatever, lol..
