Basecoat mix 1.0
After a number of months of experimentation I am starting to get a grasp on what some of the basic pheromones do. I find myself using some basic components over and over. However, I may spend several minutes putting on a spray of this and 4 sprays of that, and 3 sprays of the other. I decided to make a basecoat, that I could grab off the shelf and give myself 1 spray, to deliver a base. I can either wear it alone, or add extras in small amounts to tweak it one direction or the other.
I’ll mention how I did it, but with the warning that you should only do a mix like this after you’ve had several months to figure out what you really want in your basecoat. Otherwise you may waste a lot of chemicals and a lot of money if you get a mix that doesn’t work for you.
I decided to go with a dosage of 10 mcg/spray of each:
Alpha androstenol
Beta androstenol
Androsterone
Androstenone
Androstadienone
P-93
Using an Androtics 30 ml bottle, which I know delivers 200 sprays, the required mass of each component chemical is:
200 sprays x 10 mcg/spray = 2000 mcg = 2 mg
This calculation only had to be done once as I was using equal concentrations of all the basics. However, if I wanted to have different concentrations of each component I’d just do the calculation separately for each chemical to figure out how much to add.
The components were in their own carriers, so after putting 2 mg of each in the bottle was a good way full. I topped it off with a very nice old fougere to bring the volume to 30 ml, as it needs to be for the per/spray concentration to be correct. You can use whatever cologne or aftershave you favor to top off the bottle, or vodka, or everclear, or perfumer’s alcohol.
Which brings me to another point – This technique works as long as the total volume of your component chemicals and carriers does not exceed 30 ml. If you will go over that volume then you can’t use this easy method. This might require obtaining concentrated to-go bottles of the components. Since a 5 ml to-go bottle delivers 40 sprays, a 25 mcg/spray to go bottle has :
25 mcg/spray x 40 sprays = 1000 mcg = 1 mg of total pheromone
Similarly a 50 mcg/spray to-go bottle has 2 mg of total pheromone, and a 100 mcg/spray to-go bottle has 4 mg of total pheromone.
I tried my basecoat mix out the last couple of days and it works as expected. Went to a very nice and crowded restaurant today with the family. I got a great table outside overlooking the water, in a quiet and private area. While dressed in sandals, t-shirt and shorts, I got a sincere complement on my attire from one of the hosts as I checked in. Most everyone else in this upscale place was dressed in “business casual.” The waitress made a mistake on my drink that I didn’t catch until I ordered the second one. It was no big deal, but she ended up giving me a break on the tab of her own initiative. We had a great time and I think my basecoat mix is working well.
