LMFAO @ Renny TELL IT!!!
MMMM, I can just imagine how good Warsteiner and chili must go together. Post the dates!
I never ever stated that Germany is a crime free country… ![]()
Errrmmm… you have little tolerance for people who do not go hunting??? That’s like 90% of the western civilization - which makes you easily the most intolerant person on this board…
This thread is about the law stated in the first post - this does not ban fireguns in any way, it just regulates the ways they can be obtained…
If you are using your ammunition for hunting only, where’s the problem with serial numbers on ammunition???
Dude, it’s partly funny partly alarming how you feel personally attacked by someone calmly discussing the use and necessity of wearing and owning firearms privately!
I never personally felt attacked or insulted by the title. I just wondered what it had to do with nazis, as they were clearly not in favour of gun regulations…
German beer is very good, but not quite the best. Belgium beer is the best
If you don’t feel repressed, are you then? As I stated, no-one that I know wants to own a fireweapon here - so how can we feel repressed then?? ![]()
Just get it: The overwhelming majority here does not feel the need to carry weapons or own them privately!
You would have said something if you were. That much I know.
I was actually offended by it though as Nazi’s were assholes and it really had nothing to do with gun control.
On that note this legislation is about control. In a free society like the USA we are founded on liberty. When you control others you infringe on their liberty.
In that point you are right my friend!
Oh, and you’re welcome to come to Berlin and have a Schnitzel and Bier with me! ![]()
On a side note, do you feel the anti-drug laws repress your freedom?
They not only repress freedom but they make it very expensive to catch a buzz. Errr. I mean they make reusable hemp shopping bags too expensive for the average person resulting in the overuse of plastic shopping bags. Anybody else hate plastic shopping bags and or cardboard? Especially chinese cardboard. Nothing against Chinese people, just seems to me their cardboard is really flimsy.
…
I’ve heard you rail against Chinese cardboard several times now… Is there some deep, dark story in your past involving chinese cardboard torture???
![]()
No but it is about making gun ownership so difficult that people who might want to own a firearm and can legally do so will find gun ownership too difficult and forgo it.
Cost. Just one more way to make gun ownership and usage too difficult or expensive for people.
A quick search will reveal the post - a very tragic story - so painful I am surprised he is even able to mention it … ![]()
Putting a number on the bullet raises the price so high no-one can afford it anymore???
Just a few years ago everything I sold came packaged in sturdy cardboard boxes that kept my goods safe until I unpacked it. I could then pass those cardboard boxes on to people who had need of them for packing, storage or whatever. Today 90% of the goods I sell come packed in flimsy boxes that frequently fail to protect their contents and can seldom be reused which means they go directly to a landfill instead of holding someones stuff in an attic somewhere. It also means that if I want to send spring onions to my widowed auntie who lives in the desert that I have to buy a cardboard box from the post office instead of reusing an old one. You haven’t noticed this outrage?
Depends on your annual household income. Where I come from … lol.
Seriously, it is just another added cost … while adding a whole new layer of government bureaucracy and control. First new machinery for the manufacturer. The cost of whatever system to designate serial numbers. Then the cost to the seller of tracking (software or by hand), then the cost of central database collection, etc.. although those costs come in the form of taxes to pay for more government.
But these are all our issues to sort out BB. You guys found a solution that works for you guys in Germany and we will sort out a solution that fits our Constitution and needs here.
Good luck with this then! ![]()
Because home remanufacture of shells is so easy there is really no point to serial numbering bullets. A lot of criminals drop cigarette butts at crime scenes should we serial number cigarettes?
Have you seen the cost or tried to buy some powder lately? All my friends who pack their own are complaining big time.
Thanks. We’ll get there. Some of us who grew up with weapons and take our right to own them very seriously just do not like the direction this law is going.
Bubblebob, you are not informed, nor do you understand the severity of the statutes in question.
Therefore, continuing this discussion is irrelevant.
You poke fun, by saying 90%, I said those who say ban guns yet have never taken any soft of safety classes nor used them for sport.
I, stand by what I have stated. The problem with serial numbers on ammunition is that it is idiotic. It will kill the hobby, as well as the sport.
Why buy guns when the ammo within 3 years will cost more than the firearm itself?
