Ladies, ladies, ladies…
I’ve been laughing for two days straight due to my MX300 test.
Come on in, sit down a spell.
Well, I got my new order on Monday and of course just couldn’t wait to try it out (BTW - thanks for the IS/b sample, I was almost out of my big one!). I had to go get an oil change done on my truck so I figured that the shop would be a interesting venue for a test. Considering what I’ve read about the MX134 mix.
MX300
Scent: Neroli (new batch) - Liked scent…seems a little stronger than the normal neroli, faded down nicely.
Application: 3 sprays (2 to hair -where the horns would be, 1 split between wrists) 25 minutes before arrival - on clean slate
Environment: Midas Auto Service (the chain, not private) - 4 technicians, 1 manager & 1 asst. manager, 1 customer
Self Effects: I noticed marked mood elevation, happier and more outgoing, chatty
Noticed effects to others:
Came in and talked to shop manager behind service desk, told him what i needed (just an oil change) and handed him my keys. Distance away was about 1-2 feet. Little chatting while he collected my truck info. Mentioned to him that I was having a prob with my power steering (leak) just so he wouldn’t wonder why it would fight you when you tried to turn the wheel. He said they would look at it during their courtesy inspection. Cool!
Struck up a conversation with customer in waiting area (married, male, 33) in which I was told info that fell into the TMI category!
Was having a rational but passionate discussion on the Inauguration with same man when the shop manager came into the room and sat down 2 seats away from me and just stared… after a few minutes, he just got up and went back into the shop area (hahaha WTF!!!) - didn’t say a word.
About 30 minutes later, they get my truck into the bay, do the inspection and oil change and manager comes into waiting area to tell me what else needed done… tells me to come out to bay with him to take a look. There are 3 other techs working in this garage area, had to walk past them all to get to my truck. The tech, both managers and myself are standing under my truck, he’s telling me that the PS leak could prolly be fixed with their flush service. I tell him that I dodn’t bring the money for that today, so if he would please give me an estimate for what all needed done, I would bring my truck back to them. I return to the waiting area… as I walk back past the other techs I’m just getting stares…
5 minutes later, the tech from under my truck comes in, and asks me to return to the bay… Hmmm… OK… now what? First he asks who I know in the millitary (I have a POW/MIA plate on front of truck) and after I answered he said, “well I tought maybe it was you since you have earplugs packed in the door… thought maybe you went to the gun range or something.” Well, actually I do… but anyways… he’s standing waaayy inside my personal space while we are talking and has this glassy-look in his eyes… then he tells me that they are going to go ahead and perform the power steering flush for me at no cost
… (WHAT??? this is a $70 service - are you kidding me!!!). He said that he wasn’t kidding, as long as I brought my truck back for the other things that needed to be done (nothing majorly expensive).
Back into the waiting room I go… 10 minutes or so later the shop manager comes in, says my truck is ready and I can pay up. He’s writing up my bill - which should have come out to $30 + tax - and told me that I owed $17… again
He says that he tacked on a couple of discounts (no shit… LOL!!). As I’m counting out the money, he’s just staring at me with this odd look on his face (I wanted to ask him if he was OK, but just snickered to myself and kept quiet) and then gives me my change… then the tech from earlier comes walking back in and just stands next to me, looking at me… doesn’t say a word. (At this point, my lip is shaking sooo bad from holding back the laughter - I gotta get outta here and fast before I burst out laughing) I turn to the tech and ask him if there was something else… he just looked at me and then handed me my keys with a smile. I told him thanks and left.
The whole way home I laughed my head off…
Yeah… wear this when you go to take your auto to the shop… ya never know what they’re gonna give you for free!!! Now, I need tires next…
