Ratios of pheromones?
Gays are not attracted to androsterone like women, they are attracted to etiocholanone moreso. Also, gays are usually attracted to androstadienone ( instant female magic ), whereas straight men usually are not (in fact some straight men react negatively to it). Gays are not attracted to pheromones such as EST, and I doubt they would be attracted to TAH and so forth.
Androstenols are attractive to everybody, particularly to women (and from what I’ve read, it stands to reason, gays as well). Men make more androstenols than women, and the attraction is not exclusively sexual in nature since androstenols also signal to men as well.
I found out most of this stuff by trying to research my idiosyncratic reaction to Instant Female Magic (it makes me down, moody, I’m not a big fan esp. without other pheromones). I read alot of abstracts, such as the one above.
Also, a man wearing copulins (many female pheromone products) will never come across as a woman due to physical appearances and body chemistry, I really doubt any heterosexual guy would sleep with a man just because they wore copulins, though copulins most definitely produces interest in men in general and lots of non-sexual IOI’s. He’ll be percieved, depending on the ratios, as just a guy with “social proofing”, or if it’s high enough, a player or dirtbag/jerk. In fact, depending on what else you wore and the social setting, it could provoke a very negative reaction (read SteveO’s accounts of wearing Dirty, for instance). I can also imagine a completely bizarre reaction taking place, and possibly a person being sexually aroused, but it might also produce a hostile reaction, especially if the person is even mildly homophobic and you are obviously “hitting on them”. “Playing with fire” comes to mind, and also goes back to Renny’s sticky on congruency in the theory section. Congruence? What's That?
I wore copulins for several days going to shopping malls and never felt I got any sexual interest from men. They usually either stared at me a bit, usually a hard stare with no smiles or even a slight frown (especially older looking men), or they reacted completely normally. Women, OTOH, never seemed to react negatively at all.
