Tips and Thoughts for you who worry about your looks.

Breederism and Pleasurism headed down different roads

This is hilarious for those of us who live in the fashionable districts… 'cause in the midst of the overpriced boutiques, the precious eating spots, the clever chat on the street, there is usually one, sometimes two per block, of these self described Tui Na-Chi Gong “oriental massage” establishments, that everybody and their second cousin know exactly the real purpose of… and the clientele aren’t the lower end of the scale serfs, either, these are smack in the middle of the biggest $$$ residential areas in town… and one does observe a goodly number of gentleman callers wearing high neck coats and baseball caps pulled kinda low… and lo and behold, there are websites where these places are discussed like Robert Parker rates wines… who is an “8” versus who only errrrr… stimulates to a “7”… the cops have given up on closing them, they bust one and ten spring up in its place… so, would this apparantly thriving market for pleasure services exist if there were not an equivalent demand, day and night ? And this only represents the low end of the quick release market… the bargain basement…

It would be fun to see Neal Stephenson address such a world in a future book. There is already plenty of grey area today in London - glamorous and educated girls with a ‘patron’ or two.

I wonder how alternative institutions for resolving disputes might change the picture. Is it possible that, after the great disruption, civil society starts to reorganise itself in a form better suited to todays’ forms of communication and that in some future world arbiters of family disputes with the sanction of the community (whichever community that might be) could emerge?

Wow… I introduced myself and spoke to a 9 HB today for over 40 minutes. It was pretty rough… the whole time it seemed like she was uninterested (in talking)… I have to disagree and say a lot is based on looks…

Yes - Goleman makes this point in Social Intelligence. Most of those who have trouble recognizing social dynamics are not necessarily aspergery but grew up in families with unusual patterns.

because she was having a great day and you have worked on your psyche, spirit and character to such an extent that by exclusion it must be your looks? not to be mean, but really?

not to be mean but can you put rephrase that.. I don’t understand?

I am going to have to work this adjective into conversation one of these days. LOVE it.

I thought that was something you served with Hollandaise sauce…

No results found for “aspergery”

?

I love it. Never heard it used like that, but it is brilliant. Like Nunya says I am making it my goal to use it by weeks end.

smn1234 - how old was this 9?

In or out of school?

Were you wearing -mones or are you still waiting on those?

Matt

18
On the bus back from a class
Still waiting on my pheromones

Go for 16 year olds. You’ll be glad you did when you’re 21 and they’re 19

Matt

i agree with geoggi we want to feel good for ourselves(and if that helps atract wemen theres no problem)but its not about how you look im 14 years old and im not what you call handsome and since i started using pheromones my love life changed

what products are you using?

Matt

Looks buy you air-time, but they can’t make what you are saying interesting.

To be blunt you were talking about things she does not find interesting in a way that was not engaging for her. Getting someone responsive in a conversation has very little to do with sexual attraction, so looks would not have helped you here.

Put it this way - think of you favorite subject, now imagine you turn on the TV and there is a really interesting documentary about it. You find it absolutely fasinating. Does it matter if it is being presented by a Blonde with big boobs or a fat old man with hair growing out of his ears? - no.

The only difference this might make is when you are channel hopping, when you flick to the channel and see the old man you will probably flick the channel straight away and never realise that the programme was something you would have found so interesting. If it si the big boobed blonde you would probably stop on the channel for a few seconds looking at her that will be long enough for you to realise how interesting the show is then you are completely hooked.

This is exactly the same as having an interaction with a woman.

Now imagine you enter a room and there are two TVs - one has the fat old man and one has the pretty blonde. (you have no idea what the shows are about) but there are 20 other guys similar to you crowded round the TV with the fat old man and no one watching the woman. you are going to be more interested in the Old man and will soon realise that he is on a show that is really interesting for you…onece you are obsorbed in that programme you might as well turn the other TV off for a ll the good the pretty woman is doing.

This is how social proof works.

Do you see what i am getting at?

Generally I’d agree. However I’ve known women I was so enamored with I was happy merely to glaze in her eyes and watch her lips move. I never heard a thing she said nor did I care what silly things were uttered.

Actually, yes. No information is that interesting or amazing to totally trump the presentation. Presentation and contents go hand-in-hand and should ways be on equal footing. I–and I suspect most other people–would much rather have it presented by an attractive person, male or female. Personally I’d prefer a stunning Asian female with black hair and small chichi.

Men are different to women, we prioritise Replication value (looks) over Survival value (personality) it’s the way we evolved. (of course that is grossly simplified).

This gets right to the heart of how much looks matter.

I would prefer to have all my TV presented by pretty, skinny, naked, 19 year old girls with big boobs…but as it is I watch The news at 10 with Trevor Macdonald. Top Gear with Jeremy Clarkson and Sunday Racing with John McCririck. (sorry I can’t think of any American examples)

The metaphores, you have to member where very loose.

Then why was Dan Rather so popular? He looks like the FA Cup. So I agree with Gem here. If they had a program on Alfredo Di Stefano and it was presented by Shrek, I would be glued!

Matt

Perhaps the first element of social proof comes from within, and is related to congruence.

What if your pherosignature is more about creating expectations (like the naked 19 announcer with notable tatas)?

If you are congruent, then among other things you will be validating the expectations of your own pheros. But if you yourself act as if you don’t believe your own pherosig, why should anyone else?

And that might also explain a part of the “in your head” phenom: when you’re not wearing pheros and you act as if you are, some (fewer, I suspect) will respond just as if you were wearing pheros. But they will be responding to your behavior this time.

So, if you dab on 50 mu of -none, perhaps the expectation is that you begin to hump everything in sight. When you don’t, people don’t stop sensing the -none … perhaps they respond to you as if you are a tease (to be ignored) and as if you’re callously invading their girl-space (pissed off) and so on …
