"To Go" Spray Bottle Issues

Overall I really like the products however I am unimpressed by the quality of the spray bottles. I only have To Go bottles so my thoughts pertain to them.

Many times I’ll push all the way down on the spray button and seemingly only a little of the liquid will come out. Other times it’s none and then again other times it’s a full spray. Obviously this creates big issues especially when you then have to scramble and calculate whether adding another spray will put you in OD territory, especially with products like A314. Overall I’d like to see the quality of the bottles perhaps improved- this is just my two cents. Anyone else experience this? May seem like a small issue but then again when I’m spending money on these products perhaps it’s not a small issue after all.

I’ve experienced something similar.

What I’ve found is the reason you get lackluster sprays is because the bottle is getting moved around and the spray spout isn’t filled with the spray. It’s just like when you spray the first spray of a new bottle, the neck is empty so you won’t get a full spray.

I’ve found two options to deal with this.
One, either make sure you never tip the bottle. Keep it standing upright at all times. Or two, spray once or twice away from yourself (I spray directly into bathtub) before spraying on yourself.

Thanks Jdub! Obviously not an optimal scenario to waste a spray before each usage- glad to hear someone else has been experiencing the same thing. The not tipping the bottle advice is very good.

Yeah the wasting a 1/4 spray here and a 1/2 spray there isn’t optimal as it will add up to a lot of wasted product.

That’s why I’ve opted to keep my collection in a ‘pheromone-bag’ where they always are upright and never shaken or turned over. I don’t recall a single problem since.
But when I take togos with me out in public and top off here and there, sometimes I find that I’ll have the spraying issue.
Nowadays I just spray my mix on before I leave the house mostly.

Good luck!

I think virtually all of us have a range of bugbears about togo bottles! :frowning:

And although they have improved on the low point of two or three years ago, when it seemed that every other togo dumped its content at the slightest provocation, I would still say I tend to buy 30ml bottles over togos wherever possible because there have been far fewer quality issues with them. I also keep a stash of old, good togos that have proved themselves in use and decant/mix into them if needed.

Of course there are some products, MXs and the like that you can’t get in 30mls and if those togos leak/spray badly, I will raise a support ticket to get them replaced or a GC to offset the loss - AD are pretty generous with them, so I’ve never felt hard done by this way. Simply upload a snap showing the levels/problem and they will take it from there.

The only practical thing I can suggest is before spraying, see the pump is charged properly by pressing it very slowly and gently till you feel some resistance bit short of it actually spraying - its still not perfect but it can help minimise mis-sprays.

The other way to look at it is that the higher beings of pheromonia might have decided you need a bit more or less in your mix that day. So just go-with it!

This is so funny because on many occasions my miss-sprays led to quite potent mixes those days.
