Just a friendly PSA to the professionals among you. Wear pheros appropriate to the setting. I was feeling goofy and decided to spritz on a shot of TUTH from a to-go bottle I got a little while back. I found it while rummaging through my car’s glove box looking for something while on my lunch break. How it got there is beyond me, but I decided I’d give myself a dose for the sheer, unadulterated hell of it.
Damn. I forgot how potent this stuff is. Ever been in one of those moods where everything you say and everything someone else says can be interpreted as innuendo? Even worse, have you ever had someone pick up on it and decide it’s hilarious, thus running with it for multiple hours? This happened to me. I’ll give some examples. My job involves me doing work on an object in steps. After completion of each step, I have to have an inspector check my work to make sure it’s within specification. My inspector is an older lady. Not exactly a MILF, not exactly a cougar, and not exactly elderly. She’s about 15 years my senior and isn’t someone I’d ever see myself being attracted to. We’re chummy on the job, really informal and like to make jokes of everything. But never anything sexual.
Until today.
First scenerio-- I finished a step in my job, and due to a glitch in the paging system, I have to go over to her desk to let her know. I walk up and say “I’m up.” She glanced over at me, looked directly at my crotch, and said, pausing for effect, “Bullshit.”
Second scenerio-- This one’s all my fault, but I did it in retaliation for the first scenerio. She’s walking by right as I’m finishing up a step and I holler out, “Hey, [so-and-so], wanna come check out my junk?” It got reeeeeaallly quiet, and the sound of someone dropping a glass would have been completely appropriate at the time. Her response? “Wouldn’t be the first time.”
Third scenerio-- I walk to her desk again to let her know I was ready for inspection, and just as I approach, her computer locks up. She grits out a “FUCK ME!” in frustration. I step back and say, “Jesus, woman, you need to work on your pick-up lines!”
I should note that all of this was said in good humor and that she’s not the type of person to drag people into HR, which is a relief!
Just to be clear, I don’t count these as hits as much as they are effects. All of this was post-application, so my thoughts are that TUTH took a fairly laid back situation (which my job is most of the time), and opened the door to goofing off with sexual themes. Totally useless in the context of my job and the other person, as far as I’m concerned, but valuable in seeing how this could be leveraged in a social context.
TUTH just plain works. By that, I mean that it DOES have an affect on people, not the least of which being yourself. It’s up to you, the wearer, to figure out how best to leverage the effects for the most optimal end result.
