What does tetrahydrodeoxycorticosterone do, and which mystery putative contains it?

Does anyone knows what this does or which one of the mystery putative contains this?

“…3,21-dihydropregnan-20-one (tetrahydrodeoxycorticosterone, THDOC) can attenuate the behavioral and neuroendocrine consequences of repeated maternal separation during early life, e.g., increased anxiety,”

Google is your friend!

Does that mean it’s dangerous? Like why would some phero formula contain that?

Can’t answer the first, but as to the second, to relieve anxiety? Then again it’s a steroid, (which might answer the first question) what makes you think it’s in a mone?

I saw this in the blends as well as in Ice Breaker 4 Men:

Tetrahydrodeoxycorticosterone** *** – Novel and proprietary pheromone. Modified corticosteroid which lacks systemic corticosteroidal or endocrinological effects. Demonstrates extremely powerful “pheromone-like” activity. Continues to exert pheromone like effects for up to several hours after exposure, whereas androstenes lose effect within minutes.

It can raise your blood pressure and heart rate used in the wrong dosages. This is what I read about it at least. Its a steroid not a pheromone.

I dont know, Your not ingesting it but you can absorb it. From what I have read its used to reduce stress and panic attacks in men. I really dont know much more about it.

Most of the research indicates it is a “bonding agent”. This is heavy crap. Basically, it aids in infliuencing what scientist refer to as “imprinting”. A chemical bond between mother and child. What I can interpret from the research I have seen is that lack of this agent can result in lack of mother-child bonding and thus early onset depression in a child.
Basically, if this is not present, mother and child do not bond.

If I were in grad school, i would be using this to discuss separation anxiety.

Anyhoo, my boss and I usually talk about this kind of stuff at work, so I will get his input.

TetraHydraCannabinol is the only tetra hydra i know about

Lots of “pheromones” are in fact steroids. Steroids are just a kind of fat (lipid) that the body uses to regulate or modify itself- sending messages to tissues. Androsterone is a weak steroidal hormone that comes from the liver breaking down testosterone, and excreted through the skin and urine.

“Steroids” aren’t necessarily scary drugs like anabolic steroids, in this case. The glycosides in ginseng, for instance, have mildly “steroidal” effects- not like anabolic steroids, but acting on the nervous system and adrenal glands. Glycosides, BTW, have a sugar part in the molecule and tend to taste sweet. Licorice is sweet for this reason, but in high doses it raises blood pressure and in moderate doses is anti-inflammatory.

That’s my take. I just had chemistry in highschool and interest in herbalism. My brother was the dude that was into organic chemistry and almost ended up getting his degree in Chem.
