yeah, like I said, I use to be really into ascii keys when I was in HS. There are global ascii keys and there are specific ones for your OS I think. Like the double s is done by alt 789 I think, for PC. and there are several other ways of doing it. I have a hunch that your OS cycles through numbers depending on what language packs you have installed.

I’m all old fashioned and use the Windows character map. It says the pound symbol is made with alt + 0163. Doesn’t work for me. How can anyone hit all five keys at exactly the same time??

you don’t. you hit alt, then you hit each number individually in that order. So alt, then 0, then 1, then 6, then 3
