That’s why I got my little 3ml spray bottles. About as small as a mascara case (to put in terms I’m sure you can relate to). I can mix up a one day supply of mones and be out by the end of the day. The spray dosage isn’t the same, but if you know what you’re putting in you can tell how much you’ve sprayed by how much is left.
As to the crash, I don’t know if it deserves it’s own thread, but I’ll tell you what happened. I was going up I-5, just south of Williams (northern california, north of Sacramento), on my way to Eureka. I was in a line of cars passing a truck puling a boat in the right hand lane (there were only two lanes).
As soon as I was past, I moved to the left lane to pass everyone ahead of me. Well, just as I started moving the car on my left decides to do the nolook-lane change-two step double time. This forced me off into the breakdown lane.
Everything would have been fine had there not been an abandoned car ahead of me. So I kept going further, off into the dirt where I ditched it. The bike hit a metal post, shattering the new (rare!) fairing I had put on that morning along with the headlight and bending the handlebars, foot peg and front fender and denting the gas tank.
I ended up tangled in the barbed wire that the fence post was holding up.
I got an actual black (no kidding) bruise on my ass, a sore shoulder joint and foot and some scratches, but that’s it.
The very pleasant arse who ran me off the road, stopped a tenth of the mile down the road, got out to see that I was moving around and then sped off. A very nice couple stopped to help me out, they were the ones that were towing the boat that everybody was passing.
I credit my survival to my insistance on wearing a full face helmet along with a full armor jacket. And luck. Lots of luck. Although lots of bad luck got me in that pickle in the first place.
Anyway, I’m almost completely healed and so is my bike and we ride on.
