A bright place - Spaceland

So after aspial84’s failure with spaceland,

i decided to try the whole spaceland on a lightbulb idea i think mikotorocks came up with.

so i put one spray each on three bulbs that are in my room. after about 6/7mins i felt nice and relaxed slightly tingly after about half an hour i could barely open my eyes to be honest it was sometime after midnight but usually i wouldnt be tired till around 1/2am.

now the worst bit was waking up this morning! took me around 40 mins to move from my mattress to the floor and i had a good 8/9 hours of sleep now im not a morning person but its never normally THAT hard to get out of bed!!

I will try this again but with a different dosage i think!

(No obvious hits with SpaceLand at 6 sprays: should I change the dosage?)

So was this on one of them newer energy efficient light bulbs or one of them old school roundish bulbs…Because if it was one of them old school bulbs I’m surprised the heat of the bulb didn’t destroy the pheromones.

Either way really interesting diffusion experiment…

Ha, ha sorry! :stuck_out_tongue:

Haha dont be sorry!!!

the bulbs are quite hot but it deffo had an effect on me so they cant have been hot enough to fry the pheros!!

Just in case it helps, I experimented this on energy efficient bulbs.

Yeah I would think the energy efficient bulbs would probably work better, they get warm but not hot so they wouldn’t be burning off the pheros… This might be an interesting experiment to try one night when I’m having problems sleeping.

i got the same results. i spray on a “old school” bulb. I slept as if i was extremely exhausted.

If you start with a cold, old school incandescent light bulb, the volatile pheromones would evaporate BEFORE they got hot enough to thermally decompose.

Some of the essential oils in the scent might not cook off though.

The test is to look at where you sprayed the bulb. Is there any residue?

Theres a small amount of residue on my bulbs not much though!

A bit of internet reseach came up with these factoids:

“25 watt bulb gets to 110F; and a 40W bulb 252F; a 60W bulb may reach 260F”

I’d guess that a 100W bulb would be hotter yet.

Sooooo…

If you want to use regular light bulbs to diffuse pheromones, use a lower wattage bulb to be safe.
