This is how I would describe my view on pheromone based scents. Hello everyone, my name is Dan, I’m over 40, I’m from Florida’s sunny Gulf Coast, and I’m new to the board here (they also call me Captain Obvious). My hobbies include calling friends in New England and Canada in late February and complaining that the temperature here went down to 72 (22 degrees for our European friends), but with the wind it makes it feel like 69.

I have some, though not a lot of experience with pheroscents. I’ve had some very good experience with ambergris (though very expensive and extremely difficult to find in the western hemisphere, especially good quality - almost all is synthetic rather than from its natural animal source; ditto for musk and even more so). I’m also not completely new to the Androtics line. I ordered a few of the to go spray vials and have used them several times, though not enough yet to draw any conclusions.

I can say though that I had a striking experience with the lady who has cut my hair every 2 or 3 weeks. I had sprayed on Instant Openness before going in (mostly because I like the smell). Before I knew it she was telling me things about growing up, how she moved out when she was 16 years old because of the difficult relationship with her mother, who then passed away a couple of years later, and how that effected her and so forth. Very personal stuff that she had never mentioned in three years of seeing her.

I also very much like the scent of Instant Shine. Just smelling it makes me feel good so it’s worth it for that alone.

Ammunition is a mixed bag however. I’m not sure if has made a difference in women being attracted or me or not. I’ve only used it a few times, but if so, there have been no dramatic difference with women. I also noticed a sharp and edgy mood that seems to come over me, which I don’t particularly like. I’d be surprised if there wasn’t some of the same pheromone in there as in “The Jerk” formula, or at least some compounds with a similar effect.

So, I’m a ways from drawing conclusions but I have seen some associations between the scents and what they are supposed to do. I haven’t used them enough to say with confidence there is a cause and effect going on, but I’m open to it and it seems so far to be on that track.

One question: if there is supposed to be some element of that ‘jerk’ effect in Ammo, what would mix well with it to mitigate the edginess while keeping is effect?

Welcome aboard and I’m glad that you have experienced effects while testing out the pheromones from here! It’s pretty exciting isn’t it? When I first tried my very first spray, and I noticed the effect it had on my friends, needless to say I was hooked!

Did you notice some jerk effect from Ammo? I think one way to mitigate is to find your sweet spot and that will prevent any overdosing which may result in a ghosting effect. So start low and notice the effects around you. Also wash the application spots pretty well each night because they can build up as well.

Although you’re right - Ammo does contain some of the same pheromone as IJ from what I understand. The composition of the two differ greatly, though. Or so I gather, of course.

My experience is that pheromones are definitely doing something, no doubt, but we try to fit the effects into categories that make sense to us. The longer I use pheromone products the more I begin to realize that I’m better off paying attention to what they’re doing and how they work rather than trying to say “this one is a _____ type of pheromone”

As far as trying to take the edge off of the -none in Ammo, have you considered IH? I find that to be pretty helpful. Doesn’t take the edge off completely of course. Also, if you wear it a few days in a row you begin to kind of lose the sensitivity to it. Maybe try wearing a small amount, fairly close to your nose, for a few days in a row until you lose sensitivity to it?

Expanding on what SomeoneOrNot said, also trying spraying some IS on yourself along with the Ammo. That would also help take the edge off, known as buffering (you’ll see that word a lot around here). Many people on the board often use IS (as well as IH, IO, etc) to buffer other harsher pheromones.

Not all our pheromone products are going to work for you as I never received any effects with IO but I have with IH.

You might want to consider getting some advice from our pheromone expert because although I know that products like Shine can add a kick to the attraction for Ammo its always a good idea to know what effects one product give before adding another

If you still have some Ammo try to get a hold of Steve or pop into the men section for some tips you can use. What they have to say might be an eye opener
