A phero pouch?

I wasnt sure where to put this so Im throwing it in here!

What do all of you carry your pheros in when on a night out so that you can top up as the night goes on?
I keep mine in a padded envelope/little package thing in an inner jacket pocket, it works but its not ideal.

Im interested in hearing what other people use!

For to-gos, I try to keep mine upright, and stowed in a way that they won’t be pressed against. Usually the inside pocket of a purse works fine. If I am going to bring a few bottles with me, I have a little hard plastic case that fits them nicely. In a pinch, I may just stick one or two loose bottles in the pocket of my jeans, but I try to avoid that as much as possible.

For 30ml bottles, there’s just no good way to conceal them. It has to be the purse. Or maybe a jacket pocket, but there’s still a bulge. At least I don’t worry so much about keeping them upright and free from pressure.

If you’ve been doing this a while, you typically have a few spare TG bottles that are empty so i decant some stuff into that. Bit of tape on the thread and cap on and they are reasonable for a while.

Keeping bottles upright is a help. I often have a 30ml bottle in the side pocket of my car door, though it’s cool in the UK. I’d be more careful when there is heat though.

its messed up.. cause yeah try to keep them upright.. I actually had a brand new to go bottle and it basically leaked out completely i guess during shipping or it might of been laying on its side and it was all gone .. I never even got to use it so def try to be careful

You could store them in those film holders, or you open up a chapstick and make sure to clean all the wax out of it and put the togo sprays in there. not sure about the measurements if it’ll fit. Definitely Discreet

You could wear one of those coin dispenser thingys back in the old days hehe and carry a couple of togo spray in them.. put some black tape on the outside to make it discrete of the inside.

You gotta get creative

Film canisters and Chapstick tubes are definitely too small. But that is excellent creative thinking!

I have been using an empty chocolate box a mostly naked, definitely drunk Santa gave me in Portland. Strange happenstance, surprisingly useful result!

Lol! You have the best ideas!

Well, how do you keep the pheros upright and from leaking all over the place

If you have a togo that leaked during shipping, do raise a support ticket, upload a pic of the level (peel-back label if you need to) and get them to sort it out for you. AD have been chasing this problem the last year or so and its getting much better but they need feedback on the scale of the problem.

Yeah I guess I should of at the time but they also did send me a freebie so like I felt bad to complain you know. But when I make an order in the next few days or so I’ll make sure to mention it in the comments.

They always send a freebie. Don’t feel bad, they want to know about the customer experience.

They don’t leak by themselves on their side. It’s when there is a pressure difference between the outside of the bottle and the inside that the pump literally can’t help but leak, no matter the orientation. FedEx ships a lot of packages by air and as a result of pressurization (or lack of pressurization as it were, depending on the cargo of the air freighter it’s put in), they leak. It’s long been a problem for us and we still don’t have a cost effective solution. (The only one so far being shipping every order in a glass pressure-sealed box. Easily $6-8 more dollars to shipping per order if we did so.)

But on their own, in your bag. they aren’t going to piss everywhere. It can just be a pain to get any extra shipleak out of the cap and pump mechanism. Sometimes it gets in under the pump and makes life difficult on principle. My P74 TG is still slick with shipleak 4 months later.

Good point. I mean. Yeah that’s the only thing I get worried about is the stuff leaking. becausw to me the stuff is gold and I don’t want to waste any of it by it leaking. So. Gotta just take the most measures to make sure it doesn’t leak.

I pondered this when I first began experimenting and got a VERY leaky ToGo. I came up with several solutions. Here’s one:

To reduce leaks/spills at home, I made a stand by drilling holes 15mm for ToGo, 30 mm for 30ml) in a block of green open-cell florist foam (often seen in artificial floral arrangements). Some other foams also drill and carve well (some spray foams drill well if allowed to cure for a week; some insulation sheets work. Styrofoam is annoying to drill/cut, so try using a hot-knife or soldering iron) You can also drill holes in the top of a shallow corrugated cardboard box or sheet.

Foams are also decent insulators, which may be help for car storage, subject to extremes of heat/cold. It’s light and can be velcro’d almost anywhere in your car, such as under your dashboard or seat, if you like to keep your sprays secret – or put the foam in an empty oil filter box in your car’s trunk toolkit.

I don’t carry sprays on my person (It seems like a recipe for disaster – like those guys who carried condoms in their wallets all through jr high and high school. A leak would be even worse than degradation from body heat. As I always say, they aren’t magic potions. Negative effects are very real.) but if I did, I’d feel better if they were encased in a rigid foam, perhaps inside a hard cigarette pack or cell phone case

I like where your heads at

That’s brilliant! I love the idea of making my own foam stand! And what creative thinking, velcroing it in various locations!

You are rite about the chapstick for a holder but you need to find the plastic “2 mil.” spray bottles on the internet. Here is a place to get at least some of them, from .5 mil up. Abundant Health - Your Aromatherapy Accessory Source!

I don’t like transferring to another bottle, because there is danger of evaporation and spills. And I’d need to be sure that the sprayer doses out the exact same volume as the original bottle.

I had an idea for a test involving the effects of pheros in handshaking, but then we hit winter glove season here, so I never got around to doing the test. Then I stumbled across the following paper this week:

“A social chemosignaling function for human handshaking” Idan Frumin, Ofer Perl, Yaara Endevelt-Shapira, Ami Eisen, Neetai Eshel, Iris Heller, Maya Shemesh, Aharon Ravia, Lee Sela, Anat Arzi, Noam Sobel. eLife 2015;4:e05154

I don’t know this e-journal well, so I can’t vouch for it, but the paper has a bibliography to explore. I’ll start a separate thread in the Studies and Abstracts forum, for those who want to follow up.

Hands can be a problematic application point. As a physician, I have a long habit of washing my hands often, so I wondered if I could create an unobtrusive, convincing hand-wipe “towelette” pouch, suitable for low/dilute doses of pheros.

For my first packet, I placed a 1" (25mm) gauze square toward one end of a rectangle of thick aluminum foil, folded the foil over the gauze, then folded the three open edges toward the same side. I applied an inkjet printer-label (available at any office supply store) over the folded edges.

I tried both square labels (applied over the side I folded the edges toward) and rectangular address labels (folded to cover both sides), both printed with captions/logos to resemble generic disposable towelettes. They both looked quite convincing on casual inspection.

I don’t necessarily trust the seal very much, so I keep them in tiny ziplock bags that I keep on hand to store tiny electronics components. I still don’t trust them fully, but they may be good enough to hold a dilute phero and lotion mix for an evening or maybe a weekend.

One could use weather-proof/plasticized mailing labels, or apply clear mailing tape over a completed pouch and then trim. Both of these looked fine, but they were hard to casually tear open for use. I didn’t do any testing to see if either one improved the overall sealing vs paper labels.

I also made a pouch using wax paper instead of foil (ironing the edges to melt the wax into a seal). The mailing label didn’t stick well to the wax paper, but it made a convincing ‘commercial packet’ if the mailing label was large enough to overlap the edges of the wax paper and stick to itself.

I thought I’d share these ideas for your own experiments. There are obvious potential pitfalls in actual use, so please develop the idea further for your own needs. I only looked at the appearance of the completed packets. I didn’t use actual pheros and sniff-test them for leaks.

Even within plastic ziplock, the seal will never equal a proper commercially made packet, but it may be good enough for your own experiments.
