what: new ff22 ammo, 2s to-go front neck

who: me, my buddy, various targets

when: 10:30p, 5 hours of exposure

where: 3 bars, dressed nice to go out

initial thoughts: laundry detergent. like i went into my laundry room and splashed some tide on me. soap. almost thought it was ff21 at first, looking back at my notes at how soapy it was. nausea from leaning my head down and smelling my app points. i suspect this is what game smells like to people who don’t like game.

later in the night… it’s not a very “cologne-y” scent. this is either good or bad. if you want a head-turning scent, i don’t think this would be it. maybe it might turn heads for how different it is, but in that sense, 2 out of the 3 bars i went to were filled with smoke and this scent couldn’t cut more than 2 feet anywhere. with that said, i think this is more of a “personal space” scent.

what about hits? sure. a few, only because one place had recently finished construction so they’re getting their customers back slowly, and it was a very cold night so i don’t think many people were out in general. the place with construction just added a new dance floor wing and my buddy and i were some of the first people to check it out. nobody there and the dj was just practicing his routine so we stood around the outer wall and checked out all the cool lighting. a girl walks over, stands between us, and places her arms around both of us. she asks if anybody wants to “break in” the new dance floor with her. my buddy (yeah, the shy one) had been itching to cut a groove all night so i went in for the play. i put one hand on her lower back and bent down so she was right at app level. i told her my buddy really likes to dance but needs some help getting footloose. he heard this and just smiled a goofy grin. the girl laughed and thought his goofy grin was cute so she dragged him out onto the dance floor. as they turned to leave, her hand went in slow motion from around my shoulder… to down my back… to on my lower back… and ended up on my butt before she pulled it away and did a little twirl. seriously, it was like one entire long grope.

it’s weird dancing on a dance floor all by yourself so my buddy and the girl had their fun and then we left our separate ways. the second place we went to was not very approach friendly. there were couples and girls who purposely formed their own tight circle to prevent guys from dancing with them. some guys were even straight up turned away. smoky as all hell too, so we got some cheap drinks and left. luckily the owner of that place owns the last place we were headed so there’s a shuttle between both places. we took that to our last stop.

i head to the bar and get drinks, and right as i turn around, i see two girls standing very close and looking at me. i smile (kinda confused) and they ask “hey, weren’t you at (bar #2)?” yep, i sure was. they laughed and said they recognized me and my buddy because we looked like we were bored. i got my buddy to come over and we joked around for a bit about how much bar #2 sucked and how smoky it was and all that. one of the girls clearly was not interested, the other one gave a few ioi to me. we left to different ends of the bar and she came over a few minutes later to ask me to take a picture of her and her friends. i did, and then showed the screen to her to check the picture. she clasped her hands around mine as she looked, then smiled and said thanks.

right now, 12 hours after the end of exposure: i still smell it faintly. still soapy. that led me to do my comparison test below.

not a fan. the scent makes me feel woozy, and it’s not congruent with my style. i’ll run this one by the gf and see how she reacts, maybe keep it around to keep her nose guessing. for the most part this is going on the shelf with mx315, in the “not for me” section.

but wait jayarea… you and your testers loved ff22 in the poll thread. why the sudden change of mind?
the soapiness of the scent played tricks with me. i remember ff21 being very soapy. i thought maybe AD messed up with making the new ammo. just now i did a smell test.

2s ff21 tester, left wrist- let it dry down and then smelled. yep, still the same old soapy smell. high class soap though, not laundry detergent-ish like ff22 ammo.

2s ff22 tester, right wrist- initial alcohol blast like last time. let it dry down and then smelled. still smelled like a winning scent i would choose, but not like ff22 ammo. this is key.

dabbed the applicator tip of ff22 ammo on my left wrist, just enough for scent- and that’s all i need to smell that laundry detergent smell. i don’t need any more wooziness after a night of drinking so that was rinsed and scrubbed off immediately.

perhaps it is because the addition of pheros changes the scent, but in my opinion and through my nose, ff22 ammo does not smell the same as the ff22 tester. my testing confirmed (?) that the scent is not ff21, as my mind originally thought. that’s more of a fine soap smell. the ff22 tester was a balanced scent. ff22 ammo… is not what you think it would be (ammo that smells like ff22). hopefully i’m in the minority here and somebody enjoys ff22 ammo, because it’s not working out for me.

I’m wearing MX353 right now and I agree that the pheros seem to have changed the scent. I got that same initial alcohol smell but now I do remember smelling something similar to this in a body lotion my ex wife used to use. I don’t know if I am a huge fan of this or not yet, either.

Later tonight I’ll let my GF decide if she likes it (which will determine whether or not I do). I leaning towards liking it just because it IS so different but I think the FF22 scent is the reason for my current headache. Not a plus.

The main reason why I kept asking if the pheros would be in the testers is because I had a feeling that the inclusion of the pheromones would change the scent itself.

I have a bottle of the ff21 scented Ammo and it smells almost identical to the tester. It seems that the scents used mask the -none and other phero content really well, plus it has awesome silage which I’ve noticed that’s good to about 8 feet or so.

People have mentioned that some of the pheros have a rank smell that’s hard to cover with the scents. -none is supposed to have a relatively pungent smell, so I would have expected it to have some type of influence on the scent.

Guess my intuition was right.

This makes me a bit wary of ordering the new mx292 replacement because I personally wasn’t a fan of the ff22 scent, but due to it being a lighter scent it may be ok for layering with another product or cover scent.

FF22 should be OK, better than FF21 for three reasons. FF21 is just WAY too strong with good silage, it gave my wife such a headache that she didn’t even want me around her and FF21 seems like it would be harder to cover, so FF22 I’m guessing is better only because it’s light, can be covered possibly, and because it’s not too overbearing. Sucks because I personally liked FF21, but pheromones do tend to change scents a bit so each product will always smell stronger or lighter than others with the same scent.

The thing about it though is that the ff21 Ammo doesn’t smell much stronger than the tester from what I remember personally. I will have to test this tonight when I get home again, but it seemed to be pretty much directly on par.

Plus, Ammo itself has been marketed as more of a standalone product which you wouldn’t need a cover for.

I’m sure some people in the past had wanted Ammo to use with a lighter scent concentration so they could cover with it.

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what other reactions/responses are. I’ll probably order the next 292 version next week which will be my first foray into the scent package. Would love to have it in Neroli or something else though haha. I hope the scent package doesn’t cause clash with the Game scent either, because one of my main goals is to try the mx with mx272 (which is still in game scent).

Yeah, unfortunately MX272 will also (I’m guessing) go through its scent change so you won’t have to worry about clashing Game with FF21 or FF22 in the near future.

My comparison on FF21 being stronger is by my initial trial of MX203/MX350 scented in FF21. I will agree that on AMMO it wasn’t as strong as I perceived it to be in MX203/MX350 so it must be a pheromone in MX203/MX350 that made it smell stronger than AMMO scented in FF21. However, as much as I like FF21 the initial sprays are still a bit too sharp for a cologne scented product like AMMO that’s going to be open to a broad range of men with different taste in scents so no one will be 100% happy.

As far as pheromones making a scent seem stronger I’ll use MX292 in Game as an example, for some strange reason the Game in MX292 to me always smelled totally stronger than the Game in MX272 for example so it’s weird. However, if you ask someone else I’m sure they’ll beg to differ. Maybe it’s all up to our noses for ones honest feedback?

I’d actually have to agree with you on the MX292/MX272 comparison. I noticed it seemed ‘lighter’ in MX272 than in MX292 (both were Game scented which didn’t work with my chemistry so it was a moot point).

Yeah, luckily I still have half my bottle of Game scented MX272 and a few bottles of Game scented MX292. However, MX292 Game was more potent but if I’m not mistaken I also remember someone saying that the Game in MX272 was actually more potent so it all depends. I think a lot of others also agreed on MX292 Game being more potent though if I remember correctly.

Can definitely see the actual pheros creating a stronger scent or ‘pushing’ the fragrance and making it stronger.

You can see this with some of the products scented with neroli… some of the various putatives smell ‘lighter’ than others

MX353- 2 sprays

A fresh oceany but synthetic almost polmolive dishwashing liquid scent. Lighter feel than neroli yes but not a scent that I would use as a cover in itself. Most of the self effects were very mild. Once I get some clue about whether to use 2, 3 or even four sprays Ill start using cover colognes. The residual scent does persist longer than Neroli. It reminds me what I might smell like if I washed myself with blue Irish spring but didnt get all the soap off.

It’s interesting that you say that the FF22 AMMO smells like soap. To me, it’s just a very strong, but different scent. Not really soapy until a few hours of use. Game however to me smells like straight up soap. I have MX327 in game so maybe the mones in that changed the game scent. I can’t vouch for that though because I am relatively new to this and haven’t smelt any other mones in the game scent.

as a game fan, i can see how game could be considered soapy. it’s very sweet.

ff22 ammo was very “artificially” sweet to me. for example, the laundry detergent i currently use is tide renewing rain. did tide really cram a bunch of rain into a bottle? not really. it’s a lot of chemicals at play getting that scent just right. i feel that there are a lot of scent factors in ff22 that give it a vibe that reminds me of laundry detergent.

along those lines, ff22 ammo does have pheros in it, and that may very well be what’s changing the scent so much from the original ff22 tester that i loved.

I was lucky to get the old Ammo before the Game scented one.

I got a Free one of the game, liked it right after I put it on but after maybe an hour in if that it did not go well with my skin and never used or ordered anymore. Other products with game was ok after the hour mark and I liked the scent.

Now the older stuff. Not sure if their was many neg things said about that scent? Only if they could come up with something that smelled like that and I would have a 30ml AMMO bottle for sure and use it for the first time in month’s.

For me it’s the other way around - I think MX272’s game scent is way stronger than the one from MX292. The strongest game scent for me was always MX203 - and that’s the reason why I hated game scent for so long. Gave me headaches and made me fill a little ill.

I can totally relate. I disliked the Game scent in most of the products, but the MX203 version nearly did me in whenever I was brave enough to wear it.

Androtics just recently released a bunch in the new FF22 scent. It was in the store for oh, about 10 minutes. :slight_smile: Don’t worry, they’ll make more!

Well, not sure about your comparison to MX272 Game because for me it was a bit milder but we all have our own noses. Game in MX292 for me sometimes even seemed to make my nose feel like burning just out of how strong it was, but if Game in MX203 was even stronger than that may be the reason why FF21 in MX203/MX350 was so strong when I wore it that it even gave my wife a headache and made her not want to have me near her because of the smell. Hm, definitely must be the pheromones adding or subtracting scent strength to the scent package. Interesting.
