I’ve spent the past couple of weeks tinkering with the new version of A314. From what I can gather thus far, the self effects of this particular batch are stronger than the older versions. I commented on this in another thread, but it quite frankly put me in a negative, condescending, and generally discontent mood, which inevitibly negated any opportunity for positive effects to arise. I find myself losing my patience with people, and generally have a “I’m too good to put up with this shit” vibe.
My natural response to this was to buffer! buffer! buffer! Buffer out the negative effects of A314 by using a lot of happy go lucky socially oriented pheromones. This of course worked, but ultimately, at the expense of the positive effects of A314.
The interesting thing about pheromones, is that the characteristic affects that we deem as ‘positive’, can just as easily come off as ‘negative’. Its much in the same way that I love the fact that my wife is very passionate about her beliefs, strong minded, out-spoken, and extremely confident, but there are times that I hate the fact that she is so passionate about her beliefs, strong minded, outspoken, and so confident in herself. It’s all fun and games until she gets pissed off at me ![]()
When it comes to pheromones its the context and application of the pheromones that determine whether or not the effects are ‘positive’ or ‘negative’. The implications of a socially oriented pheromone like androstenol tend to be less polarizing, as they have an inherently socially positive effect in just about any situation. But pheromones like A314 and androstenone are very much double edged swords, as the positive effects of these pheromones are very much the negative effects as well.
What makes A314 so absolutely valuable is the fact that it helps you stand-out. It projects a heightened aura of masculinity and social status that puts you above the rest of your peers. The flip-side to standing out is that you inherently run the risk of alienating yourself from your peers. In order to pull off A314 and truly reap the benefits, it behooves you to try to strike a balance between standing out and fitting it…which is much harder than it sounds.
It makes sense to try to buffer A314 with socially oriented pheromones, but by buffering the negative effects of A314, you are inherently diminishing the positive effect to some extent. Socially oriented pheromones like androstenol increase social acceptance, help you fit in, and put you on the same level as your peers. Given that the point of A314 is to standout, when mixing A314, its important not to get too far away from the inherent effect of A314 when buffering it.
Over the past couple of days I’ve gone back to simplified mixes, and have simply sought to ‘deal with’ the effects of A314, and actively harness and hone them into positive effects…and quite frankly, my success with this stuff has been better than its ever been. ‘Dealing with’ A314 means actively trying to have an open and inviting demeanor with people. It means that you’ll more often have to initiate conversation, and generally have to take control of situations.
It really takes an active self-awareness and socially gracefulness to pull this off. I made this analogy in another thread, but pulling off A314 is a lot like dealing with success for the first time in your life. It’s very easy to let it go to your head and push people away. Heightened social status without a positive demeanor leads to intimidation, resentment, and alienation. This is very much a danger of A314 as well, and I suspect, the source of the negative experiences people tend to have with the product. But once you harness the effects of A314 and hone them in such a way that has a positive impact on people, it positions you to be in command of just about any social situation. This includes sexual and attraction situations. People are inherently social creatures, and social position (not necessarily in terms of prestige) = attractiveness.
