The last two posts have mentioned the GRACE Foundation of New York. Another Autism-focused nonprofit organisation based in New York City/Long Island, is the Eden II and Genesis Foundation. The organisation’s primary purpose is to provide much needed funds for programs and services that support individuals with Autism. The Eden II and Genesis Foundation supports programs, serving children and adults with autism, including day schools for children, as well as day and residential services for adolescents and adults. A Golf Outing is held each year to benefit the organisation, whose previous name was the Foundation for the Advancement of Autistic Persons (FAAP)…

…THE SEVENTH ANNUAL Dr. Anthony Moretti Memorial Golf Outing will take place on Monday, May 23, 2011, at the beautiful South Shore Country Club and Golf Course.
…The day will include a barbecue, 18 holes of golf, fabulous prizes for closest to the line, longest drive for men and women, closest to the pin, and the foursome with the lowest score, as well as a cocktail hour, gourmet dinner, honouree awards, live & silent auction, 50/50 raffle, with guest celebrities in attendance.
Dr. Moretti was an attending physician at Staten Island University Hospital and a staunch advocate of the Eden II School. When Anthony and Laura Moretti’s son, Anthony Jr., was diagnosed with autism his parents enrolled him at the Eden II School. It was his abiding love for his son and gentle, compassionate nature that compelled Dr. Moretti to take a more active role in the school and its work, not only for his son, but for all children and adults affected by autism…
