Test 1-- p102
1 spray to wrists, 1 spray below chin
Self-effect: I didn’t notice any changes after spraying my wrists (and holding them up to my nose), other than slight nausea (which could have been unrelated). I decided to spray below my chin so it would be closer to my face, then start on homework. I immediately noticed being more forgetful and less focused. I left things in the wrong rooms and got distracted from homework to bake cupcakes. Even when doing that, I showed lapses of judgement.
Test 2-- instant shine, is/a, is/b
2 sprays instant shine to lymph nodes, 1 spray is/b to throat, 1 spray is/a to chest (I was in a hurry and didn’t have time to worry about a wider separation between areas sprayed)
Self-effect: higher heart rate
effect on others: many, many people complemented me on my haircut. Though it is a drastic difference, I wouldn’t say it is as worthy of praise as people gave. One of my teachers (who is often in a bad temper) continuously complementing me, and in another class, girls from all over the classroom (including ones I’ve never talked to before) followed suit. In a third class, I was applauded for the change (though this isn’t entirely out of character for this particular class), and one girl said that I was her “favorite person right now” after giving her a cupcake, and hugged me for an extended amount of time. Of course this is partly from the cupcake, but it’s a bit of an over-reaction nonetheless. I believe the high rate of positive reactions can be (at least partially) attributed to the instant shine, but I made no notice of any effect of is/a or b. I will test these separately in the future.
