About the altoids tin, maybe I got a couple of wonky ones that leak a little but, I’ve been storing mine in a ziplock bag and even with it sealed the smell of the colognes wafts out of my backpack and is fairly strong (at least to me). It seems like having a tin in your pocket would have you giving off a pretty overdone signature.
Anyone have experience with this?
Thanks!
I use altoid tins all the time…never had an issue with smell, but to prevent leaking I have put tape around the togo lids…there’s been a couple of times I had a bottle in my pocket and next thing I know I’ve got a half empty bottle and a wet spot. ![]()
I thought the goal was to have a half empty bottle and a wet spot?
Altoids tin is great for holding 3 to go bottles. Make sure to put a tissue or kleenex inside so your to go bottles dont rattle around inside. If you want to a case that holds 5 to go’s, look for a tin cigarette case. They work great for 5.
Cigarette case would be something like this.

Wouldn’t that mean you have to fool with the tape every time you want a spray?
He’s referring to the screw on top of the spray bottle. Not the cap. Tell me you knew the tops screw on, and you need to make sure that they’re on tight - or they’ll leak. ![]()
Good idea! I would not want to have this stuff rolling out of my purse.
I have a small, hard shaped, opaque makeup purse. My TOGO’s fit vertically in there. Since I always leave my bag in a ‘standing’ position, my spray bottles are always upright. Since they fit vertically, there’s still plenty of room for the other stuff. Admittedly, I don’t carry that much makeup. ![]()
LOL! Who needs makeup! Ok I see what you are saying. Just checked the bottles. They seem properly secured. I’ll be sure to store them upright from now on. What I noticed with one of them is that the product would collect inside the cap, presumably through the nozzle and facilitated by the bottle being on it’s side. It seemed like the nozzle wasn’t misting as fine as the others either. Hopefully the problem is remedied. It appears that it was only my bottles of IS and IO that were giving me trouble, but I was using them the most so I got my money’s worth out of them. It’s already time to reorder!
I also had this happen to me before:
-
It only happens with some bottles, not all. It’s just a defect in the bottle. Nothing you can do much about it. It will either leak out through where it screws on, or even come out the nozzle.

Only remedy is to ensure that it stays upright.
With that, the Altoids idea is a good idea. I will definitely look at an Altoids tin next time I’m out.
